Radiohead copy AE or not?

The word "catachresis" doesn't really come up too much in
conversation but i just noticed that in my copy of amnesiac
which is a book it has fake library card inside which says
it's from "catachresis college" on it. Autechre's similarly
timed release confield has the final track as "lentic
catachresis."

Bizarre coinidence or mr. yorke taking his open fanatisism
to new plagueristic extremes?

I think Radiohead is influenced by Autechre... that doesn't
mean they all out copy them...

their entire repetoire

if anything, ae copy radiohead

yeah i think you're right, probably not their style, plus i
think they came out too close for one to see the other.

they both certainly have changed over the years - i heard
there's some new radiohead around from a concert in
portugal? what's it like? more techy stuff?

anyone know where to hear it?

not drunk, just writing the same thing on two computers with
two hands on the same connection and user name

I can't stand any Autechre either actually. Can't see why
everyone likes 'em so much.
earthleakage said it just right

ae is better than radiothing

offline jamesa from United Kingdom on 2002-10-19 18:05 [#00409534]

autechre would not ever release a track like creep, they are
very different.

i can't see radiohead releasing anything from confield,
unless they want 99% of their fanbase to ditch them

offline jamesa from United Kingdom on 2002-10-19 18:08 [#00409536]

i look at like this, i would pay £50 for a new aphex track,
if only i were to get it.

ae and radiohead i would pay £28.

therefore i like them equally

are "just" regulars?)

if it means anything to you...
thom yorke bought the entire warp records back catalogue
before kid a or amnesiac...

Main Entry: cat·a·chre·sis
Pronunciation: "ka-t&-'krE-s&s
Function: noun
1 : use of the wrong word for the context
2 : use of a forced and especially paradoxical figure of
speech (as blind mouths)

fleetmouse is employing irony .. but Thom Yorke having more

Um, you have to see the thread where earthleakage is
preventing the medics from ever harvesting his liver. I
don't know if he realizes he's typing. Maybe he thinks he's
on Leno right now, or crouched in a ditch screaming at his
pants.
