"it's like a furhtered, more experimental go plastic imo."

I agree , a logical progression =)

Drukqs was not imo , but i still liked it.

i just got it yesterday, i like it, not bad at all like all
you people made it out to be. doesnt sound all that
different from go plastic. how is this one for $? anyways
even if an idm artist made an album for $ theyre not getting
very much anyways so theres really no difference.

why was drukqs not a logical progression? it seems logical
to me. i like it so much better than rdj album.

man, Go Plastic is freaking cool... it's like the perfect
electronic album... Drill'n Bass, Glitch, and IDM are all
there... and it's amazing!!

agreed man... Drukqs is a total step further from The RDJ
album and Come to Daddy... plus, he included some piano
pieces which is a new thing for him...

drukqs is a logical progression, it's got some elements of
the rdj album, and then some new elements.
it is very different though

bought is yesterday as well, i like it quite alot. F-train
is a strange one... not really fantastic, but also not as
bad as some people make it sound. I like the last part,
where the vocals suddenly become more clear.

Kill Robok is alot like the go plastic-songs i think. It's
like utter chaos at first, but after a few listen i can make
out the melody.

Anstromm Feck is awesome, very upbeat and VERY energetic. It
makes me happy when i listen to that one :-)

conc2symmetriac is a bit silly... like metteng excuske...
not sure why he bothered with that one. Maybe it's just a
way to flow naturally from anstromm to mutilation colony.

I love the first 3 or 4 minutes from mutilation colony... it
sounds sad, a sort of very disturbed ambient music. But
after that it just sort of falls apart and becomes
annoying... goes on way too long.

love will tear us apart remains a good song... i can still
enjoy it in this version, but joy division did it much much
better. Tom's singing sounds really insecure. I'm guessing
those lyrics probably mean alot to him... artistically there
has to be some point in him singing this song himself. Maybe
he's trying to tell us how he feels at the moment or
something...

I mean: he obviously (imo) did not record it because his
version sounds so fantastic. My guess is that it's more like
an artistic statement. Like some art is not beautiful to
look at, but once you understand the meaning of it you can
still enjoy it.

And i just have to say that DYSP (the song) is one of the
best songs i have EVER heard :-D

That is one amazing track! I never bought that untitled
vinyl, nor downloaded it... i heard it for the first time
yesterday, and was just blown away... what a song! Can't get
that melody out of my head!

All in all, a nice - but overpriced- ep with at least one
fantastic track.

I heard a strange version of Love Will Tear us Apart last
night at work... it was kinda cool...

yeah they played dyks (the song) on elementaal yesterday
(3fm). the presenter afterwards said something like 'no your
radio is not malfunctioning, people, it's meant to be like
that'

it made me wonder, how fucked up are we to actually enjoy
this (fucking great) song, while the presenter of a dance
programme on the radio has to apolgize for playing it on the
air???

i thought dyks was pretty normal sounding... :(

i'd say it's "relatively normal sounding" ;-)

The music itself is not so strange, but i can see how the
untrained ear might be kinda disturbed by the distorted
vocals.

And there are a few moments where he intentionally fucks up
the song for a few short seconds i guess (for instance at
2:50)... which might disturb the regular audience ;-)
Altough i personally love it!

But i wouldn't call us fucked up... at least i don't feel
fucked up. It feels great to be able to enjoy this kind of
music :-D Whenever people ask me how the hell i can stand
that horrible noise, it just think it's their loss. :-)

well all music is noise.

composition just entails bringing some form of order in the
noise.

hmmm i kinda always suspect that in a couple of years all
these idm heroes of ours are gonna come out and say
something like 'ok guys we were just messing with you all
these years, you are crazy, we created incredible shit to
see if you were brainwashed enough to accept it'

still, till that day comes i'm gonna be enjoying idm :)

I'll keep enjoying their music AFTER they own up to their
conspiracy.

I think the new record is great! I'm not big on track five
on the first disc, but the rest are really great tunes. No
amen break on any of those. And I think his version of the
Joy Division classic is good. Have you heard other Joy
Division covers? Trent Reznor did a good one, and I like
Smashing Pumpkins version of Isolation, but otherwise, I
detest Joy Division covers. Squarepusher has one of the
three good ones--I think that's pretty impressive.

Also, the music is very melodic--some crazy beats and stuff
still, but there are these melodies that are very catchy and
memorable. The live stuff is great fun, too!
