just bought the following with a gift certificate:

boom bip- seed to sun
set fire to flames - sings reign rebuilder
venetian snares - higgins.....
daedelus - invention

quality albums right there, i was debating whether to get
squarepusher's new one but the skimpy 7 tracks led me to not
choose it. i forgot to get Brownout which I really wanted
as well as Endless summer. ill get those next time

good purchases!
how's the boom bip album? i've been thinking of picking that
up too. hope you like daedelus...it's one of my favorites of
the year.

Boom Bip - Seed to Sun , just got it yesterday so have not
had too much of a listen...it is actually very accessible, i
think a lot of people would like it... sort of whiteboy hip
hop with glitch influences, like Boards of Canada meets DJ
Shadow to give an oversimplified blurb-like one line advert
type comment...

higgins... only vsnares album i have
the 2 first and 3 last tracks are the best, in between it's
a bit boring. i think it would have been better if he had
put the tracks in another order, not all the "hard" ones all
lined up in the middle...

yeah, i hate it when theres like 1 or more songs that ruins
the flow of the album or that are just not good. ive only
heard a few tracks so far but ill listen to the whole thing
today.

i think vsnares or kid606 needs to sample dose one in a new
song just to make fun of all these idm/"glitch-hop" artists
using his fucking vocals, i mean christ! it's so cliche now.

dose dose perform in the vid? he's a nutcase on stage, what
with the body, and the hypnotic sorcery... what is hip hop
coming too?!

sometimes i don't even consider him hip-hop... anyway, yea,
he's in "the birdcatcher's return"

he's most definitely on some influences outside of hip hop
(he's beg fan of BoC) like many emcees these days, but it
sounds like hip hop to me. very progressive hip hop.
except for subtle, a project that he's had his hands in. i
call that something else with very subtle hints of hip hip
scattered throughout.
