If anyone here just watched the eclectic production for the Queen in Toronto's Roy Thomson Hall, that was quite something. The only weird segment in the production was ... Tragically Hip?!?!? For the Queen??? I was shocked at that really. I know it was about Canadian artists but please...like the Queen would be interested in rock music.
The other parts were good: choir music, ribbon contortion by members of Cirque De Solie (sp?), classical / interpretive dance (whatever you wanna call it) and a song by an apparently up and coming 12 year old singer girl from eastern Canada...which wasn't that bad actually.
Overall it was cool. Roy Thomson Hall looks wonderful as it was redone inside with new lights and everything. What a hall that is. Beautiful!

what's this? i seen alegria, the recent cirque du soleil production that came here. the heart of the show was this contortionist girl with ribbons and hoops... her vibrations (again) were absolutely hypnotising. the whole crowd was sucked into transendance... like the power that was encoded in her body movements was straight from the heart of all beings. anybody catch this?

The Queen is quite simply tragic! Let's just leave it at that!
