I guess that my bad karma came back to me....

I guess that my bad karma from the childish things I have
done in my past came back to me today. I woke up this
mourning. Bright blue sky, not a cloud in site. Had some
wonderfull coffee, read the paper. Took a shower. Then I
come to my room wanting to work on some tracks..... so I
turn on my computer. Sipping my coffee, watching the happy
mac face stare back at me. I smiled back. System startup is
done, and then.................... WHAM!!!!!!!!!!! SYSTEM
ERROR 127 please restart your computer.... and I am talking
the white mac error window here.... in OS 9.2. That white
bitchy error window. I go ok.... restart... sip my coffee...
thinking to my self.. hey, its only a slight error, probubly
some rare extension load bug... so the mac man startup looks
at me with still with his grin... as if mocking me... so I
hold my breath... WHAMOOO!!!!! ERROR 127 agian... So I took
the typical mac trouble shooting steps. Clearing the PRAM,
opening up the extensions manager and setting to base 9.2
extensions.... I then run Norton , reset the desktop
file.... run anti virus... and still ...... turn off virtual
memory.... the white error screen.... ERROR 127 please
restart. 5 hours passing... I came this "__" close to
fucking throwing my g4 out the god damn window... But I kept
my cool, and am defraging my startup drive in hopes of
resolving the conflict. Reason I am soo pissed... I HAVENT
HAD THE TIME TO BACK UP ANY FILES YET!!!!!
AAAAAAAGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHR!!!!!!!! So I write to you from my
moms iBook, in high hopes that the defrag might work... send
all your positive energy my way ladies and gentlemen. I am
going to need it. Cause boy oh boy... if I lose my that
stuff on my hd... I am going to just go out have a nice
quite dinner with my friends and family and blow my fucking
head off... send all your positive energy and wishes my
way.... I need all the help I can get...

*PLUS*

The mac technical support guy I called from the apple head
courters this afternoon said after a 2 hour call... and I
quote "well... we have gone

"well... we have gone over most everything there is as far
as trouble shooting goes..... everything in the apple
book.... take it to a apple store and see if they can save
your data......"

Words cant express how much I am sweating over this........

I am not a happy camper!!!!!!!!!!

You have my sympathy, Mickey.

When a good day turns for the worse, it's terrible. All
those good intentions all go flooding down the drain :(

If you can't see the drive what are you defragging?

Is this a Norton emergency disk that sees the drive?

Its been a pretty bad couple month's for me, my grandpas in
the hospital, my grandmas suger levels have been way to high
(diabetus), my dog died, I am not concentrating at school...
my friendship with my best friend has fallen apart....I
recently quit my job due to the fact that the manager was
stealing money from my wages... and the list goes on.... I
mean everything was pretty shit . And today for some reason
I was super happy and things were awesome..... untill
this.....

That sucks. I hate it when the hard drive or something
critical shits the bed. I wish there was a defrag utility
built into the control panels.

Good luck w/ your computer. Maybe it's time to go to OSX?

Inverted whale I am using a small program that apple makes,
part of the apple repair kit.. I tried Norton earlier this
mourning and it couldnt recoknize any disk, then all the
sudden the disk dissapears on me...... now I am using this
small app that apple made which the tech guy suggested me to
use.... it defrags the disk but does it in this sudo OS
during the start up, so..... its kinda my last ditch
effort.... Believe me this tech support fellow and I went
over EVERYTHING, I mean EVERY-THING. A good 2 hours on the
phone....

Thanks for the support everyone

OS X doesnt have protools, max/msp, supercollider, recycle,
rebirth, all the small dsp apps I have coded and aquired
over the years....and the slew of random apps I use
regularly, I wish it could be that simple

OK, I guess your repair program checks the hard disk driver
and replaces it if it is bad. That's what I would check.

There are places that can recover data from practically any
dead drive, but it will cost $$$.

And $$$ is something that I dont have right now....

bucks.. and the cheapest I found in my area so far
400......

Ok. Here's a really corny self-help situation...

"You're standing under a lovely cool waterfall. All the
stresses of your day arerunning out through the ends of your
finger. You feel yourself relax, and nothing is on your mind
but the cool water..."

Sorry about that. I just had to do it in this situation! :)

When I first installed the download version of the 9.1
update from Apple I got this same error message the
following day. I got this from Apple Error Codes' site,
"error -127 fsDSIntErr Internal file system error." I
couldn't find a way to fix it (doesn't mean there isn't one
) so I simply went back to 9.0.4. Since I got Mac OS X I
installed 9.1 from the CD that came with X and all seems to
be fine.

of bad sectors i think something happened to the heads and
they ruined it every time they tried to read it, and we
