who's the other guy? why the nonsense song titles?

its umm.. a guy. a friend of mine. the nonsense track titles
do often have a meaning, ive got this track title language
system which tells exactly what elements i put in a track,
and it helps me filing it but its nonsense to others.

thats true. i cant give my tracks names like "Happy World

pretty wicked.

why not just give them temporary titles in english and
rename them if/when you release them? by putting out songs
with jibberish titles you're missing out on half the fun!
the new lfo album was going to be called "mommy i had an
accident" i recently read. have fun with it - get jiggy!

the "idm"-y way of titleing tracks is soooo boring.

agreed. and they're so hard to pronounce. i feel like such a
fool on air, especially since i don't write out what i'm
going to say beforehand. i'm just reading the names of the
songs then it's like.. uh.. *stumble* i dunno what this is
called. it's spelled...

LOL @ titsworth (in a good way). I bet its hard explaining
to listeners who did the track "Gidv9 494kf9bjck9dl
v1.339494904 sdii V viviwi". mind you the artist might be
something like "w9c sivi449ck.dfk" so who knows.

i forgot what i was actually going to say lol. that would
be:

yeah name tracks in english style verbal things. some of my
tracks have been called

-How to make an omlette

-Your daughter sucks

-Put your spoon on the right

-Projected glass on ink and wood

-The intersection

-My favorite wool sweater

i love song names. i have names for songs i haven't even
written yet.

i find afx's drukqs titles and all ae's titles the WORST to
pronounce on my show. they always trip me up. last night
some bjork song with an icelandic title did the same thing.

i love mogwai song titles cos they're funny and
inappropriate. their tracks are instrumental (nearly always)
but they don't cop out and name them random letters.

Hehe, same here... I sit in class and stare at the wall
coming up with weird song titles, then I try to come up with
lyrics... and fail... so I just come up with MORE song
titles for my non-existant Syd Barrett-ish psychedelic folk
album.

i disagree about the idm-ish tracktitling issue. i think its
fucking great when you´ve made a new track (i´ve made
thousands so i´ve lost track of´em anyway) and you hand
your cdr to someone and the tracklisting is all:
1. ptyjesex02 pfer
2. rdXjhr2
3. potestro cack raft
4. fdpodfpodfpodf v.13
5. pogs ver.1.9
and they´re like, "ermm that.. umm.. second track is really
good..".
I love it when i´ve named a track and i still cant
pronounce it, or even be arsed to remember why i named it
the way i did.

I like Autechre's track titles... they're weird, but not
quite gibberish.

Arch Carrier
Parhelic Triangle
Milk DX
Chiastic Slide
Eidetic Casien
Pen Expers

Cool as a cucumber word play. Drukqs just pissed me off with
its titles, 'cept for Vordhosbn which is possibly the
coolest word ever.
