Whitehouse is not musique concrete, because this term for the most part goes for academic composition using "unmusical" sounds as sources: tapes and records of sounds etc. Pierre Schaffer, Piere Henry, Bernard Parmegianni (championed by Autechre boys BTW), even Stockhausen and Cage have all done this at some point or other. |

Yes, that was the key point I was trying to make. It falls in the tradition of academic composition, as opposed to "pop" music that you can say Whitehouse belongs too. |

I thought I made it very clear that saying "pop" means "Not academic and not folk music", and yes, industrial and noise musics are part of pop culture if not being pop in a strict sense. |
