DJ Shadow, A Tribe Called Quest, Portishead, J-Live,
Autechre, The Roots, Mogwai, LFO, Tortoise, Esthero, Si*Sé,
Joy Division, Oval, Blackalicious, and others..

and yes you do need windows media player, but no it doesn't
have to be the latest version. enjoy!

is

btw lecoeur aim's not working here this week, something
about component files being missing. so i'll just be on
here.

;) i'm always in a weird mood during my show cos i'm just
sitting here facing forward for 2 hours by myself,
occasionally talking into a microphone... it's a bit
alienating!

tell us a bit about your show -- for example, what format is
this? mp3, vinyl, CD, a mix? And are they already put in a
playlist, or are you DJing live?

*licks pencil and gets notebook out*

offline titsworth from Washington, DC (United States) on 2002-10-07 20:38 [#00395821]
Points: 14550 Status: Lurker

it's all cd (occasionally i'll make mix cd-r's from mp3's).
i'd love to do a real dj set but alas i don't own enough
vinyl and if i had a cddj there's no way i could plug it in
here. also, to clarify cos people have asked, this is an
online stream of a real college radio station - wdcv in
carlisle, pennsylvania - not me on my personal computer.

i always make playlists ahead of time but sometimes i leave
room for other songs not planned

bs2000 or tribe? for the first 1/2 of my show i'm going for
recognizable songs and artists.. 2nd 1/2 is more hip-hop
and cold-emotion rock

actually it's not back to school... it's the original song,
the last track on the white pony ("pink maggit")

naaic: i had planned to play hood but i had to nix them this
week cos i had over 30 songs on my playlist... i had to nix
a lot actually.

written in homage to steve reich cos it's in such a similar
style.

have you heard the Ambient volume 4 : isolationism -- great
album - has a very nice Labradford track on it :) (As well
as Aphex Airlines, which is what drew my attention to it in
the first place)

offline naaic from Uppsala (Sweden) on 2002-10-07 21:35 [#00395864]
Points: 1546 Status: Lurker

yeah, i love labradford...i have their newest
album-fixed:context, and it's amazing. Real mellow, ambient
sort of stuff, with simple guitar melodies that are
absolutely gorgeous. I've heard bits and pieces of the two
previous albums and they both sound just as good. I
definitely recommend fixed:context.

offline titsworth from Washington, DC (United States) on 2002-10-07 21:39 [#00395867]
Points: 14550 Status: Lurker

neat. i'll probably buy fixed:context then :)

aphex airlines, now there's one of rdj's classics... i love
him for submitting that to virgin airlines. i haven't heard
that comp. which labradford song is on it? i wish i had
caught the godspeed tour where they opened,
