From Autechre.Nu: I absolutely don't like GantzGraf. When Autechre wrote Chiastic Slide, they made A NEW THING.Now, they are simply "decanos",and i think they've lost a bit of inspiration.It seems they bring to the extreme consequencies their ideas since 1996-1997,but there's no new astounding intuitions. Maybe i'm wrong; what do you think? |

I think the title track Gantz Graf is really cool , the other two tracks suck imo! Is it me or is the version in the video of Gantz Graf a bit different then on the EP? A bit more panning effects and subbtle harmonies? Or is it the nature/concept of the video that make me hear this better? (also watch the awesome video for tools "Parabola" , it keeps changing all the time , freaky! higly recomended) |

why the fuck does an artist have to go in a new direction with every release? if they have a landmark in music, do you think it's a piece of fucking cake to make another big achievement? it's hard, guys. lay off, gantz graf was good. all tracks were good. let them do their work, they dont need a new groundbreaking album everytime they put something out? |

GG has been discussed to death on this board. let it lie; if you're still ambivalent about it, read old threads for people's opinions. i think it's time to move on. the last thing i'll do is remind people that the 3 tracks on GG are just leftovers from the confield sessions, not brand new tracks. i don't know what inspires autechre to make music but i find their material still fresh and innovative. |
