hello everyione, ...
I finally finished last weekend a new video. Hopefully this
would be the last unofficial video that I'll make for a
while since I am finally getting some real gigs. Yeah !
I also upgraded the video I did for "nannou" to a much
higher resolution and better compression. You must have
quicktime 6 to play those 2 videos back.

thx for watching

I just don't have the time at the moment. those stuff takes
each time 5 full weeks to do. So unless If find something
clever and quick to do, I probably won't be able to do it.
But thx

your stuff rules man

I must say though, i am a big fan of Radiohead, but i must
get into the song before i get into the video

ure other stuff ruled, some of the best video work i have
seen since Chris Cunningham's "Only You" video for
Portishead

there not an official video. They just gave the right to the
guy to use the track ... but it's never been comissioned.
What's next is more music video, but official ones this
time. The next viticm will be a guys named mellowdrone.

you can watch it on radiohead's label site, so i think it's
pretty official. we've been over this before. i don't think
the fact that there's already been a video for it (which you
hadn't seen when you started your video) is a big insult to
your creativity!

Laurentbriet, there seems to be something wrong with the
file. I downloaded it twice, and both times i got an error
message in Quicktime saying it was unplayable. ???

you just need to get quicktime 6 to play it back ...
the file is good.

thx princo !

All my appologies to you all. I forgot to mention it
earlier, but you must have quictime 6 to play back those
files.

the new nannou and radiohead are quicitime 6 files.
the []pusher is an mpg an can be played back by pretty much
anything.

Your work is excellent, I watched fatcontroller first,
thought it was good, other than I'm no boxing fan.
I thought both Nannou and Like Spinning Plates were
brilliant, so well put together..
Looking forward to more..

thx doug. the next one won't happen for a while. Hopefully
I'll be shooting it in 3 weeks, then I'll go back in my cave
for a few weeks of post production.

Laurentbriet-

That Radiohead video was AMAZING. The color
combination of yellow/orange over green was beautiful. I
think your video was better than the song. You should create
your own sound to suit it. REally GOOD

One question:

How did you create those firey tracer lines?

offline laurentbriet from new york on 2002-10-02 15:37 [#00390389]
Points: 208 Status: Lurker

thx, I wish I could write music but this is not a talent
that I have. I'll stick with making pictures.
the firey tracer line are just simple texture apply to a 3d
geometry. It's all done with a 3d software called maya.

What?! That is so NICE. They teach Maya at my University...
maybe I'll learn it. So do you import still images and then
create a 3d world from it? The warehouse looks real enough,
and the images of the shirtless guy. How does Maya compare
to 3d Studio Max?

no worries marlowe, I'll be on vacation soon. 3 more weeks,
3 more films and then I'll go to some sunny place get some
rest.

regital ....

the firey tracer light are "3d", I also use maya to
manipulate the image fo the "ghost", but the rest is real. I
shot that camera move in a real wharehouse. I just added the
rest of the effect in post.
Maya is I think a better package than 3ds to me. Plus I work
on a mac, and 3ds doesn't exist for that platform.
