I read bad things about vsnares on this message board.

Just wanted to collect opinion (again), as I was thinking of
getting 2370894.

Fucking abrasive stuff. Anal to the max but fun. Not for
every day.

If you dig the latest Squarepusher, this is quite similar.

Is it as bad as that bloody awful racket, Merzbow? What's
wrong with a good tune aye? "Round, round baby come
round..."

Jonesy: but VS has tunes. Sometimes. "Dance like you're
selling nails" has a very distinct tune.

I guess so. Look for it in a shop and give it a listen. It's
a nice track.

the sugarbabes are actually wax dolls.i tried to get on top
of the pops last week in the hope that i would be able to
smuggle in an electric radiator, and then cunningly place it
behind the three wax bitches so they would melt.
unfortunately, the security said my face was too big to fit
through the entrance.

intense

I've found all the vsnares I've listened to in the past a
tad harsh. But the excerpts from the new 'Winter in the
belly of a snake' sounds really interesting. You can
download a medley here

I was hanging out with some friends who had never heard
anything like vsnares and they are fans of stuff like cradle
of filth and such. So they compared vsnares as being the
cradle of filth of the electronic world. :) I thought it
kinda sorta fit.

Grind slop harshness with random profanities.
I used to hate it now I love it.

A bit overrated... it's hardcore and maniacal, complex in a
way... but too limited. Some great shit, but he's NOWHERE
near the upper echelon of IDMers... you know, Aphex, SP,
Autechre, Mu, BOC...

before i realy like it , but then it kicks ass ..

I would have to agree with Ophecks...I find his music good
but it somehow lacks depth and emotion.

I think the guy has come a long way since Greg Hates Car
Culture. He now can form great melodies, and incorperate
them with his hard core drumming style. I love his music,
it's unstoppable. Seriously check him out. 2370894 has
everything from happy hardcore, to death metal, to ambient.
Great stuff.

awful, as in... "hey, this is pure madness" or "hey, this

Its just too harsh and not at all musical. Put it this way:
if i was gonna torture someone I would tie them to a chair,
leave them in a room with this guy on full blast.

if you consider buying only one Vsnares album, get HIGGINS
ULTRA LOW TRACK GLUE FUNK HITS 1972 - 2006.

hardcore will never die.

aaron funk tries too hard to come across as a 'badass'. he
has a totally contrived image, and in interviews he has to
constantly attempt to impress people with his 'bad, dirty,
low-down' sex'n'drugs lifestyle...

come on aaron, we're all adults and everyone gets down to
the dirty, not just you.

when i read his interviews i don't know whether to laugh at
him, or cringe.

Higgins is an amazing album of hughs and lows.

I mean all you have to do is listen to Dance like your
selling nails, then listen to Dismantling 5 Years to hear Mr
Funk's gentle and more sweeter side

A great musician, if not a bit too extreme at times

Hello World ! (this is my first post)
I listened to the preview MP3 on planet-mu web site & I must
say this guy is still evolving in his style. Compare to what
he put out last year ( doll doll doll - be friend a child
killer ) - he certainly acquired more skills with
production. Sounds good for a guy who claims to be
surreallist.
