Music 4 your deathbed/funeral ?

Since we are talking about death what would you like to
have played while you slowly pass away. (I'm assuming you
aren't going to die of anything violent or sudden)

Hmm bit morbid really, ok then how's about a tracklisting
for your funeral then ?

I myself am not too sure but either would have to end with
stone in focus...

i was thinking 'bout this recently, so it's funny that you
ask,
....'er ...
a strong contender for my 'sending off' is a song called
'washer' by a band called 'slint'.
oh, it kills me.

Id like to end with Eric Idle's "The Universe Song" from
Monty Python's The Meaning of Life!

Yeah that's a nice one. I would like the tracklist to finish
with something peaceful, soothing and ambient. So @ the
moment it would have to be stone in focus (i'm addicted to
it)

For my funeral I would probably want Girl/boy played, but I
wouldnt want it to be depressing so lots of "cheery" songs
as well.
For my deathbed I agree with Jonesy,I would want silence.

I always thought "heart attack while having sex" was a
particularily nasty to way to die, well... at least for the
partner...

Necrophilia, hmmm not quite, but one must always imagine the
worst: the lesson we must learn from this possiblity is
"never have sex on pace makers". That could be a good title
to an aphex track actually..

At funeral after I am departed (I mean not hearing any of it
and hopefully not scratching and clawing at the lid with
muffled screeching) I would like comedy records played.
Monty Python, George Carlin, heck even some old Bill Cosby
back before he became a Jello shill.

"This is an ex-parrot! Dead! Deceased! He's shuffled off
this mortal coil!" (can't remember the exact words)

Ha ha, that's wicked cypress hill :)

I'd play street spirit by radiohead because of the down
feeling then the positive last line.

I'd also like alberto balsalm played as my coffin was
lowered down.

What about getting your face painted, or wearing a large
daffy duck mask to really goof out your relatives when it
comes round to the "visiting of the coffin"!

*sings* "cracked eggs.....dead birds......scream as they
fight for there life..."

...at which point everyone attending your funeral breaks
down into tears....:D

thats the price for playing radiohead at a funeral [I
wouldnt be surprised if everyone went home afterwards and
commited suicide].
I do actually like radiohead...:)

Did anyone ever see this 70s adaptation of Brave New World
where they had school children visiting some kind of
futurisitic corpse disposal center and the kids got to push
buttons that disposed of the corpses in big transparent
plastic tubes? They called sending corpses down the chutes
"doing plop plops" or something equally morbid and annoying.
And they sang little funeral carols like "death is fun,
death is nice". (this all sounds so weird that I have to
wonder if I am making it up).

Anyhoo the death-caroling children would be nice at your
funeral to remind everyone that death is natural and hey, be
cool with it. Me go plop plop!

be buried in full whiteface death metal makeup...

well, i was thinking about making my will the other day, and
i think in my will i will include how i want my funeral to
be done (although i don't really see why i should, since I
wil be dead, and not care anymore). but anyways, i guess
it will be a good way to give a last hurrah to everyone
around me. and of course, that will mean including lots of
my favorite music. mostly pat metheny group songs, like
first circle, on her way, 'it's for you', and more. but i
might include a few aphex songs, like flim, alberto balsalm,
acrid avid jam shred, and maybe BOC's ROYGBIV. joey

I'd love to be buried full Victorian style. You know
everyone in black with top hats and the massive black hearse
drawn by black horses and the little 9-year-old kid wear a
suit and a top hat leading the procession...

Aphex Twin - beskhu3epnm
Brian Eno - An Ending
Aphex Twin - Ziggomatic v17

I want to have it perfectly time so that right as my casket
is lowered into the ground, the end of Ziggomatic v17 is
playing, because it is a beautiful outro, and right as
they're shoveling dirt over my coffin, it will say "Thank
you for your attention, bye."

tell me that's not badass. :D

chatting about wedding/funeral songs.

wedding : maybe avril14th for down the aisle.... still
working on an actual "bride and groom" song

funeral : stone in focus

mistah kurtz, I love the new album. not all the songs are
stellar (I am not a big fan of another life or wherever you
go), but the other seven songs are powerhouses.
