personally i dont believe there is a god, i mean science has proven that ppl werent made by god but by small beetles evolving into bigger beetles etc.etc. and if there was a god he would be a fucking funnypants just think of ebola, people with a mental handicap or just people locking themselves in or fucking ugly ppl then he's laughing his ass off right now..
maybe god had a bad day once and farted so bad the galaxy was created and he died afterwards... who knows
what do YOUthink of god?

God is Love... apparently!!
I think a believe in God, or a God, or many Gods should be a very personal thing. Its about having faith in something. I personally have faith in myself and in the natural universe...and therefore need no external God.
I see no problem with people believing in God... the problems start when those people start coming together to form religions. Religion is an incidious scar on the face of humanity, and is the main reason (by a long way) for all conflict in the world.

People fear death... that is the ONLY reason that religion and the notion of God still survive today.
I see little point in fearing something that either I won't know about (I die and thats it) or I can't predict (I die and something happens)....WHAT IS SCARY ABOUT THAT?!

Something must have started time/space/matter and all the laws on which science is based...
There probably is somekind of god but totally not like the one in the bible or other religious books. I think it exists in another dimension that we can not speak about since our words are made for this world. Therefore I think no one can know "more" or "less" about god, it's beyond our capacity. Yes, I agree that god is being abused a lot by the powerhungry.

I KNOW there's a God.. Render me a mathematical equation for Love and I'll debate with you. C.S. Lewis said that every man is born with a God-shaped vacuum in his heart.. What he chooses to fill it with is a choice of his own, but there's only thing out of the myriad that won't dissolve.
Though my actions don't show this like they should, I believe without a shadow of a doubt that this is true.

People that can't talk about religion or politics are hiding behind the fact that they are just ignorant in these matters,
as most are.
My real friends and I can talk about them all day, so your father, Chrispy, was just shutting you off to a world that is quite worth while to explore.
and as for God, matters which one you're talking about.
The blind one that created us and was in love with us untill we found out we could be just as powerful as him
and then proceeded to leave us to fend for ourselves here on Earth, or the one that has been and will always have been and can't really be understood untill we die.
and then there are thousands of others that we have created just by thinking about them.
You're right on LuckyPsycho! God is love and that's about as simple as we can get with it, withou getting all confused with definitions and explanations.
and Cabbog, you really believe that there's a god that cares when you
use his name in vain, that God never existed my friend, only in the imagination of people.
The ten commandments were created by Moses, not God, to calm his poeple down,
they were acting like savages and couldn't understand the real laws
that were dictated to Moses by his higher self, not Jehovah.
The bible has been changed and changed, and is no longer what it once was so you must read through the lines.
IT IS NOT LITERAL!
you can believe whatever you want to and it will be right for cause we are all
creating God-like creatures that will be able to make anything come true with the right amount of thought put forth.
Thanks for listening!

"Who is God? Well, it's an invisible person, and he lives up in heaven, up there."
"God is someone who rules the world. He's sort of like a spirit, I guess, up in outer space. He kind of started all the plants growing, and he started all the people, and I guess he's kind of big and fat."
"He can see us whatever we do, whatever we do, he has such powerful eyes, he has to have millions and thousands and billions, and he can still see us when we're bad."
"He could be sitting on the table right now, but you can't see him."
"If he was a bad man, he would make everything bad, and we wouldn't have electricity, he wouldn't make people, that's what would happen if God wasn't nice."
"... he's not though, a lot of people think he's just a feeling, but I think he's a real person."
"Well, I think that God isn't a person, but he's up in the heavens, and he's watching over us right now."

I believe in God yes...
and to comment on the very first post here, it actually hasn't been proven that creatures evolve, and that we evolved from a fish that grew legs and walked on land... it's a theory... a theory which I believe Scientists believe in just because they can't bring themselves to actually make a leap of faith and believe that a God created all this... it's stupid to me to say that all this universe grew from an explosion... and that life was created accidentally, and evolved into the intelligent and complex beings that we are... and another question, what caused the big bang?
both theories are unprovable right now, and so it all comes down to one thing... you either are able to believe in the supernatural at certain times, or are not and can only believe in things which are proven by science... or in other words, you're either not restricted to wha you can see and touch, or are restricted to that, and are unable to conceive of anything other then that... scientists say that God is unprovable, and is thus non-existant, well let me ask, why should our science at this point be able to prove that something all powerful, and supernatural exists or not? Not believing in God just because science hasn't proven that God exists is pretty stupid imo, but hey, if you don't believe in God it's fine with me... just don't put me or anyone else down for believing in him...
that second paragraph was too no one in particular, just some of my thoughts... the first paragraph was in response to the first message...

evolution is not a theory. a scientist hypothesises a theory then does scientific experiments to disprove that theory. after much research, the evidence will only back up a theory untill there is little doubt in its validity but does not prove that theory outright.
evolution is, rather, and explanation for observed factual data ( the fossil record, D.N.A. "molecular clock", variation of species etc...)
its kinda confusing but in short, evolution is like the opposite of a theory. most 100 level biology books can and do explain this in greater detail.
and if you want to be biblical, the bible doesn't give God's means of creation, only the ends. taken as a figurative text, God could have used evolution as a means to create life during the 7 days; which could figuratively mean 7 billion years which is not far off of the age of the universe which i believe is approx 7-10 billion years old.
but i don't believe in God. maybe A god or gods or a super power or mind boggling coincedence or something but not a christian god.

do i believe there's a god?
there could be one
but then again their couldn't be one
no ones ever really proved there is one, but no ones really ever proven this theroy of evolution or what ever it's called, sure we look like apes, does that mean we came from apes? maybe, but then where did apes come from, where did the the thing that made apes come from, where did anything come from? it's one of those questions that we will never figure out until we either a) die b) find hardcore evidence that this theroy is correct. but even if this theroy is proved i probably still won't believe it, i'd rather just wait until i die.

Hey dude smoking is bad for you!
and blind faith is as well.
what version of the bible are you reading?
King James'.
who the hell was king James and why do I need his version to be the right one.
why don't you read the Gospel of Thomas and then email me and tell me what you think of that because the new testament has been changed and the Gospel of tThomas was discovered in Egypt 60
years ago and is a lot more revealing than just saying that we should have blind
faith!
I've had experiences that give me faith in higher powerS, and I don't need stupid
brainwashing statements to make me believe, Jesus probably didn't even say that, what does it say in Matthew's version in the Oxford english bible, probably something completely different.
read the Gospel of Thomas and email me, I want to know what you think about it.

There is no god I belive in modern science!!! =)
I fail to understand how people can belive in a excistence that people in thousands of years have not been able to proove with any hard facts.
I think religion is more like what a teddybear is to a small child.
Something to find comfort in or focus on , and im fine with that.
However, it takes some pretty fucked up shapes and forms all over the world sometimes.
If you lock back on the European history the church pretty much fucked up everything. (the moonks where pretty cool tho)
The only thing they acomplished was some nice buildings imo and maybe spreading some light and more civilised ways where there was none (scandinavia hehe!)
is it me or does most christians look really unhappy? Most of them are pale and wear outdated clothes that makes them look booring.
Those really hardcore christians doesn't know what life/living is!!
I think the afroamerican churches are cool tho , theres some godamn joy innit!!
Gospel is wonderful music (but the lyrics suck ass!!! "oh lord you are so great blah blah blah..."
I would like to visit one of those churches sometime.

I think this god concept was invented because they could not explain anything at the time (no shit!!) , not even how the milk is made inside a cow or why there is thunder or rain.
Also religion is a very good power tool!(you don't say?) I can imagine religion being used to gain power even on the time of cavemen.
Do this and that or your god will get angry!!!
And Badabing badaboom god created earth! Its to simple!!! I think the scientist thru time are real heroes!
