Stinky Linky

or just read this copy+paste

Good news for vinyl obsessives - The premium vinyl pressing
of Aphex Twin "Drukqs" (WARPLP92X) is scheduled for release
on September 9th. It will be available in good UK shops
(they will be able to order it for you) and you can order it
now in warpmart

GO TO LIMITED DRUKQS IN WARPMART

Limited to 1000 individually numbered copies, they have been
manufactured at RECORD TECHNOLOGY INCORPORATED - take a look
around their site to find out more about the labour
intensive processes involved, and their sheer love for
vinyl.

All warpmart orders will still receive the Posters and
laminated postcard set that were given away last October.
---------------------------------------------

I've ordered a copy already.... thanks mum! ;)

I hope my decks are good enough for it like Netto states,
I'm confident they will be and I have everything set up. Two
decks, on the floor next to some speakers, a big chunk of
ganja and friends who can chill out and listen to the pure
sound rather then the CD. I fcked my Drukqs CD by using it
so much and leaving it out of the box, you bet your ass I
wont do that with this. ^^

I would have thought it would take half an hour but they
dont seem to be going very fast. I think most people are put
off by it being vinyl and costing quite a bit.

I put my order in and only got confirmation this morning,
it's not dispatched yet.

What's all this about the audiophile version not working
properly on a regular turntable? I've got audiophile vinyl
b4 and it works fine...surely the only real difference is
the quality of the actual materials used - ie 'virgin' vinyl
and a higher standard of manufacture?

Do you mean on a regular turntable you just won't be able to
hear the difference?

You're dampening my excitement dagnammit! heh,heh :)

Wouldnt it be interesting if someone released vinyl to be
played at 16RPM or 78RPM! (not sure if you can make 'em?!)

The 16RPM would sound like shit, but it'd be a sure
collectors item!

I have some 78rpms from the old dance halls, if you knock
them they turn into powder, they are like plates rather then
vinyl.

I think I had a 'sound test' on 16rpm. but i'm not sure. I
remember it wouldnt play because I only had 33/45. I'm again
not sure tho, I just remember the slower format.

I used to have one that played all speeds. But it was a
crummy belt drive one. and the speed for 33 1/3 was way
off!! So I got ride of it... never had any 16s to try on
it.

I'd love to get a Victrola for myself!

at the tears roll down my face. I've had the confirmation
