hate to say it but I told you so about the current US
backed Afghan regime..how those involved have worse human
rights violation records than all of Taliban put
together...and here they strike again..I believe I
specifically named Dostum as well

Massacre: Dostum ready for probe

KABUL, Aug 30: Afghan warlord Abdul Rashid Dostum has
rejected accusations that some 1,000 Taliban prisoners
suffocated while in his custody and pledged to cooperate
with any investigation into the deaths.

Dostum, in a joint statement with two other senior Northern
Alliance commanders, admitted that some 200 Taliban
followers died in containers while they were being shipped
to a prison at his northern Shebarghan stronghold last year
after a lengthy siege in the city of Kunduz. But the
statement said the deaths were mainly as a result of
injuries sustained by the prisoners in the fighting at
Kunduz and emphasized that their deaths were not
intentional.

"The operation of sending prisoners to Shebarghan prison
continued for four days. In no case were any prisoners
killed. In no case was there any intention that they should
die in containers," it said.

"It was of our utmost interest and that of the international
coalition to interrogate the prisoners."

The commanders listed suffocation as one of several causes
of the 200 deaths they accepted.

"Most of (the deaths) were due to wounds suffered in the
fighting but also due to disease, suffocation, suicide and a
general weakness after weeks of intense fighting and
bombardment."

A report by Newsweek magazine earlier this month cited a
witness quoted in an internal United Nations memorandum who
said some 960 people died in the containers.

The memorandum said their bodies were now buried in the
sands of Dasht-i-Leili, near Shebarghan. But the statement,
which was also signed by the powerful Tajik commander Atta
Mohammad and local Hazara leader Sardar Mohammad Sahidi,
said that "we believe these numbers are totally inaccurate".

The statement said

The statement said that United Nations investigators and
human rights teams had been given full access to the site.

"We have been open to the best of our ability about the
numbers and events.... Both the UN and Physicians for Human
Rights (PHR) have never confirmed the numbers."

Initial investigations by the UN on a handful bodies have
determined that they died of suffocation.-AFP

start butchering eachother. Oh and the remaining Taliban
supporters can join the fighting once the international
soldiers are gone. Yes, it's far from perfect.... :(

Something need to be done on usa's power, the rest of the
world need to stand up against it.
The situation now is unaceptible , they can't handle it with
honour.
They (bush and his cru) can do whatever they want and
nobody can't do shit about it.It scares me.
It is never a good idea to give the most powerful position
in the world to a man who can't tie his own shoes.

Americans think they are the BEST in the world.....and sadly
few think of other countries!

there is a minority that do think of the entire
globe.....but unfortunatley they are not as well financed as
the warmongers in this country.

i've always held a different view of things......more
pragmatic i think.....but i don't agree with our idea that
we are the BEST......and that what we SAYS goes.

but sadly it seems as though there is not much opposition
from other world governments.

EU should unite to invade USA and the white house....smack
them around a bit..and then replace Bush with an old and
wise native american!
REVOLUTION!!!! =)

I think perhaps the situation would have been better now if
there was a female US president instead.

But i hear she is making it big in foreign countries.
In swedish papers they showed the group pictures from the
world conferance thingy and of all the world leaders she was
the one standing next to clinton .Maybe that was his way of
showing he encourages female presidents or more women in
politics cause i know he does .or maybe he was just being
horny as usual.
Anyways , it was a big deal in the papers.

I know what you are saying isn't serious, but being a
country that doesn't take shxt has its pluses. I don't
think anyone could ever invade the US with destroying
themselves in the action. As you all know, guns are pretty
popular in America and having the most powerful military
does make it easier to not be pushed around.
And I'm not too sure on the subject, but why isn't Sadam
just asassinated in a secret operation. Invasion just
doesnt make sense when its going to kill tons of people and
destroy their homes. From what I understand its possible to
kill him alone, but there is some reason i was told that it
doesn't happen. Some UN thing I think.

i hate to tell all you guys who think women will be 'kinder
and gentler' than men politicans....they'd be the SAME way.
you have to think that people would be saying they(women)
don't have the 'guts' to get business done....and we all
know how psychology works!!

flea....read the articles and actually saw something on CNN
headline news about clinton (puke) saying something about
using caution with iraq and getting congressional approval
before the guns start blazing.

we'll see what a rubber stamp congress is in the near future
i suppose.

the articles showed me that 'other' leaders may indeed
condem the US actions and attitude toward iraq...they are
not in a position to defy the will of the US. =/

-----
for the person that asked about assisination.....it's NOT
sanctioned by any government or the UN. so it's essentially
an illegal act. HOWEVER we all know how someone can
accidently on purpose get SHOT and end of problem.
