Lunatic Harness is his best. But I heard recently that he
does the mutiple-alias thing like Richard. What are some
other Mike P. alias'?

Yep, go for Lunatic Harness. Or Tango n'Vectif (the
re-issue). In Pine Effect is far from his best stuff he's
made.

i'm trying to find Kid Spatula - "Full Sunken Breaks", and
i've searched almost every online records shop i can think
of, but still with no success. is this a "hard-to-find"
record? It certainly is on the net.

Lunatic Harness is where it´s at.

I have royal astronomy and was sortof disappointed, he has
some nice melodies but the beats were pretty basic, overall
it's okay, but i've heard much better, maybe i chose the
wrong album?

Lunatic Harness (US version, has another 3 songs on it) ..
can't quite remember what Tango n Vectif sounds like, heard
a friends copy ages ago .. but lunatic, is a very boppy sort
of playful album.

yeah, royal astronomy isn't that great, but it does have
some good tracks like 'The Motorbike Track'

offline wayout from the street of crocodiles on 2002-08-30 02:59 [#00372031]

yeah royal astronomy is rather inconsistant... the good
tracks (scaling, hwicci song, motorbike track, the fear, 56,
goodbye, goodbye, autumn acid) on that album are among his
best though, methinks... its a shame that the lesser tracks
are among his worse..

offline AE_King from Australia on 2002-08-30 03:57 [#00372089]

Get Tango 'n Vectif first for sure!! Tango 'n Vectif and
Swan Vesta are some of his best songs...then i would get
royal astronomy and the others. I can also recommend
'expert knob twiddlers' (mike p and rdj) the sound of mr
beady eyes is great! :D

Tengo n Vectif is great.... I perfer the origional because
it flows a little better then the rerelease and all the othe
bonus stuff. Royal Astronomy! Its good, the orchestra pieces
are really impressive and track 3 is just awesome

hi Neetta, your name sounds familiar... :)

another alias is "Rude Ass Thinker", he uses it to make a
great RUDE remix of the MC Hammer's "U Can't Touch This"

:) very funny indeed

I'll recommed Lunatic Harness, definetively... this was my
very first IDM album, I came to him through the remix that
Mike made of Björk's "Hunter" (from Homogenic)

The Tango n' Vectiff reissue is VERY varieted, and it needs
some time to be fully apreciated totally, very original and
unique sounds if we see the music he was making at the time.

"sick porter"? thats on bluff limbo-which is also damn
good-full sunken breaks is highly overlooked, i can't get
enough of "epic blusta" and "qisope" is beautifull

I think my fave at the moment has to be Hector's House. I
love the contrast between harsh scratchy noise and long
ambient synth or bells - like track 9 on Afx ICBYB ... damn
what's it called...
