SAW II

hevquip from somewhere in the u.s. on 2001-03-15 22:38 [#00001069]

i remember when i bought SAW II. i sat down and tried to
listen to it and ender up saying "what the fuck is this
crap?!?" i returned the cd and bought mr oizo instead. now
that i've thought about SAW II a little more, i realize that
i shouldn't have returned it and will purchase it again. did
anyone else feel this way?

does anyone know if its possible to use the effects on an
mc-303 to alter the sounds on a tr-707 through midi or any
sort of wiring?

Id Lab from Preston, UK on 2001-03-16 00:11 [#00001070]

Other way round. When I got the Mr Oizo album, I didn't like
it. Then I listened a few more times, and I like it now. I
already had SAW II, and loved it first time; but now I've
lost it, so I have to listen to Mr Oizo. Or something.

The 707 is pretty early in MIDI terms, and the most you'll
get from wiring it up to something else is the same as you'd
get from tweaking its own knobs, I'd think. But I don't own
either machine, so I'm just guessing.

I took a quiet night aside. Waited til after midnight when
things got really black and put on my cans. Listened to
SAWII both discs straight through.

The album does take quite a bit of attention span though,
some people just aren't cut out for it. Doesn't make them
bad I suppose.

Great album.. so well made and full of genius it's
ridiculous. I went to beddy bye with it on once and when I
woke up it was still skipping on a little scratched part.. I
was just glad it was the end of a quiet track and not
something loud and annyoing.

Save it for quiet, uneventful day...you'll understand why
when you listen to it...

Don't you mean LP5 (Autechre)?

:)

Its a very minimal album, your not really going to get much
by"listening" to it, play it and let it become part of the
environment. Call it Furniture Music if you must.

still in its packing along with SAW I and LP5, just started
exploring Drukqs, which I think is simple enough to love.

thing to make up your mind up on getting it or not (am i
making sense??).

I might do. I'm really not sure.
