Maybe this is a stupid post or maybe not.. What are you
alls opion (and no you dont have to cuss in this topic just
to say ur opion)

Here is what im saying. If these words are bad to say (as
some ppl think) I mean some people think that like the devil
created the words but were the one who created the words,
fuck = sex, shit = crap , damn = darn , and so on ,i mean
some ppl get mad and like dont say that like my parents but
i PREDICT in the future that my kids will be sayin like fuck
u dad, just like today some kids say u suck dad and so on,
so .. wat do u all think???

I don't think cuss words are needed to express yourself in
the english language.

people invent these words, then call them evil. how stupid
is that?!

the word "fuck" can have about 20 different meanings. it
can be a noun, a verb, an interjection...

a lot of cuss words didn't start out as cuss words - their
meaning evolved...

...and a lot of old cuss-words now are viewed as being
harmless

As society changes the boundries and language will change
also. 200 years ago i'd have probably been flogged or
something in america for saying 'damn'!

Yep, unless the PC brigade step in ;)

Look at old english text from the time of the reformation in
Britain and you'll see swearing even in stuff written by
scholars & clergy!

I think you can be far more biting and insulting using irony
and sarcasm than swearing at someone. See the "this will
reach 100 thread" for a good example.

Look at stuff that I and Cygnus said after about 200 posts
w/o swearing.

"peig" is greek for evil

it eventually became "f***"

like "damn" as ben said, or even "bloody", which is, as i am
sure you're all aware, a compound word of the phrase "By Our
Lady".

The word "cunt" came from the old Norse word "Kunta"

It's English in origin actually came from the latin "Cunnus"
- a horrible name for a horrible thing.

"Cunt" actually originally didn't *mean* anything, it was
just an offensive word.

as long as the person i'm talking to know in which manner
its meant

I swear more than I'd like too in real life, but online I'm
quite restrained. I believe that by using them in moderation
people pay more attention when you say them.

never say the word "cunt" around my female friends lol (it's
like the worst word you can say in this country).

i very rarely use "f---" and i never use racial slurs.

for some reason people get surprised at me when i swear even
mildly at school. i dont do it often, so it's
understandable. i usually refrain from swearing; lack of
swearwords can make someone more approachable imo...

No, Cunnus was a latin (may have been greek come to think of
it...) word, which "Cunt" developed from in Britain after
the romans left.

In Holland it's common to swear with including awful
diseases in your swear combo's.
Like:

kankerlijer = (roughly translated->)cancer-patient

Comment sent to: http://www.cusscontrol.com

"You can fuck right off.

I am actually very articulate and I use swearing for
emphasis and effect in moderation. Substituting
non-swearwords is absurd as you really mean the same thing.
For example, saying, "Gosh darn it" actually means "God damn
it".

You display ignorance of the English language as you seem
unaware of the intrinsic use of swearing since the language
was formed. Try reading a book or print from the time of the
reformation (in England) if you don't believe me. Even
priests and scholars used "profane" language regularly.

You seem to be a group of individuals who either; wish to
make money out of products/services that will only aid the
type of sap who believes in the kind of quick fix "self
improvement" you peddle or are a group of misguided people
who believe they are doing some good in the world.

It's entertaining the way that American pilots in Vietnam
were allowed to add "tail art" to their planes, but were not
allowed nudity or profane language in their designs. The
very same planes that were used to kill and maim innocent
women and children.

If this site is actually a humourous parody, I apologise,
when looked at in this light it is very funny indeed. Well
done on such convincing site.

If, however, this site is genuine, you can, as I have
already said, fuck right off.

I rarely swear in public, sometimes at home infront of my
brother.

Once me and an older female friend were walking around the
block and this dog came up between us and because I am so
afraid of dogs I let out a big "FUCK!!". She couldn't
believe I had used that word! She was laughing all the way
home :)

From Marlowe: "CUNT is the only word not allowed to be said
on British tV i believe"

From xlr: "I would never say the word "cunt" around my
female friends lol (it's like the worst word you can say in
this country)."

I still remember that infamous Sex and The City episode
where I think they said cunt three times!! I think it was
about this guy that painted pictures of, well, cunts! :)

Melbourne talk radio went crazy the day after, also the
channel that broadcast it here got tonns of complaints!

yeah, the fact that the word CUNT is banned on british tV
has been exploited by comedians, who, say, have said it lots
and lots in a short amount of time so that the tV viewer
just keeps hearing blank-outs

hilarious

Followup to Ceri:
"Is it true there's a lot of overly politically correct
people in australia?"

There probably is. Though there seems to be lots of
politically incorrect people! I've never really thought
about it. The younger generation is very politically correct
when it comes to race, gender etc. But I don't think most of
us (young Australians) have much of a problem with cuss
words.

I hope I am being helpful, and not just typing crap! =D

I remember once when mark and laird were doing that one
afternoon. It culminated in them saying "One day that
blanking machine won't work- then we'll be fucked". They
actually said "fucked" unblanked as the next song came in. I
couldn't believe it, it was about 4.30 in the afternoon!
Nothing was ever said of it, I expect they hoped no-one who
would complain would listen to such a show.

Now that I think about it, last night was the Logie Awards
(Australian TV awards). During a tribute about a TV
presentor that died last year the person talking said
"fucking", and at the time no one really seemed to care. I
should also point out a lot of older people where there.
Actually now that I think about it there seems to be lots of
politicallt incorrect humour here! This show called The
Panel has had some gems :)

Though on the overly politically correct people, there was a
FLOOD of complaint about Big Brother Uncut a few weeks ago.
Some said it boarded on PORN!! There was nothing really,
just lots of "rude" bits and people talking about the
pleasure's of licking arseholes! Oh, the pleasue of
Australian Big Brother =D

NO!!! God help us all if it was!

If you want a real look at what Australian life is like now
just take a look at The Secret Life of Us, I've heard it's
