Music for studying

I'm looking at six weeks of intense studying of physics and
math before my admission test to the local university of
technology.

I'd like to get some ideas on what would be the best
"background noise" for studying. Confield and saw2 have
turned out to be great for my purposes so far...

can you really concentrate on what you're studying when
you're listening to music?

i'm in the same shit as you are, tropa. i'm currently
sticking with stuff like lp5 and confield, saw85-92, saw2,
endless summer by fennesz. also try the ambient classics,
such as music for airports and the apollo soundtrack from
brian eno. really soothing and relaxing stuff. still,
autechre is my fave for maths :o)

I used to put on SAWII, or SAW85-92 a lot... anything
ambient I guess... or, anything that doesn't totally draw
your attention away from your studying... :)

I don't need to worry about that any more... CAUSE I'M
FINISHED SCHOOL FOR THE SUMMER!!!!!!! :)

I can't study with such detailed music bacause I always get
attracted by those subtle sounds under the main melody's and
rhythms.

I think it depends on the music. I mean, I can't concentrate
at all when the radio is on, but some music even gives me a
boost, i think. Especially saw2.

with me, I used to find the course material dictated what I
listened to, or if I even listened to anything... doing math
problems I could listen to anything... whereas trying to
memorize material something softer like ambient, or
somethings nothing at all would be best...
