random: the sailboat one. i grew up listening to a lot of celtic fiddle music. i even took violin lessons for a bit. and i found the motions of a violin bow coming back to me by the end of that recording it was a sequencing/tuning experiment after the keystep crashed and scrambled some of thad's canoe and, wow, i think i need to try more of this. because the 303 can... very fiddle |

0:32 ~ sliding the canoe down the sand, a little moment of disconnect in between tactile sensations as it begins to float 0:56 ~ THWOOMP you penetrate the membrane, switch positive and negative space 2:00 ~ helixing twizzler spirals of resonance as i'm winding the 303 out to give you exactly two (2) cycles of the whole thing, what you want to hear, where it's spinning you around at 1/32 using tangent lines jumping ahead in the spiral and the whole opening in general is like: am i using the 303 right? if not, what settings should i use to make lazy acid lords shit their pants? and people are like SSSH SHUTUP NEVER EXPLAIN and, actually, you lot understand what this song is about. because you're involved. that's also kind of rare for music like this |

the "pretend you're teh afx" thing was good for a hoot, for a bit, but it's almost like a pyramid scheme innit? i reached a certain point where it was like "alright i'm really really not aphex" i'm my own strange shark weasel something i dunno. and it wasn't like "i'm not as good" or "i'm better" it was just, you know, i have a bit of a different personality and so does my music? but i can still listen to him closely and maybe someday he'll rip me off back i do wonder about how he goes about his music day. he was speaking of "holes in his collection" or such at one point. it sounded like a rigorous thing, i dunno, these synths with that sequencer, we haven't tried that permutation i am more like: i have just discovered how to make the 303 do fiddle music on my last track and excited puppy squirms i want to do MORE OF THIS and perhaps i could razz on celtic moods and call it CELTIC MODS 47, yes? but then i feel like haptique has one more in it before i hide (good in my hed) mix and call it an album. i am thinking, like, it's "floornado" and obviously i need to start with a good kick drum and at some point it's like the kick drum gets peeled off the floor and starts spinning around, and, yes, i know how to make my delay pedals do this and never mind i have to work. i can't afford a tape machine because no one buys flac bit different right |

it really does feel like a chatbot in my head. but it's one i've built from my own source material [indulging brain as if it were a child] "Alright then, and what tempo is Floornado?" ...and if it makes sense, i caught a flash of... 160BPM! 180!!! no, no... 133bpm idealish dance tempo... 137, it is 137 BPM which is slightly fast but not too fast; reasonable? but why 137? i get no answer but dammit, this will be relevant later. it's a hole in my collection |

i also suppose i utterly don't know what i'm talking about on this level as no one's ever let me near a large system, but i can see people losing their shit to the mccartney remix about 1:32 to the point where solo cups are vomiting beer in a froth and no. one. cares i think sailboat might also work live in a more smooth way |
