has xlt / aphextwin.nu really been around since 1997? i vaguely remember there being a place called zap.to/aphex and there was a messageboard at joyrex.com (boo hiss), i used to download all the threads to txt files every sunday afternoon at the library |

thats oldschool. yeah but i guess it really came along with the birth of the web, still without a registered username in the beginning and i heard the same people were hangin around in irc chats shortly before that. the earliest i personally remember was around 2001 or roughly about 6 monhts before i decided to register, totally clueless and no idea if i was ever gonna post/participate and break the language/cultural barrier, but i was after infos on the music, so evetuall i came aboard. people from here hangin in soulseek regularly especially on friday evenings, mixing, suggesting & streaming music made it a lot more fun and valuable music wise. vlari, phresch & hanal were bigger than spotify and a lor more fun! miss you guys and the rest of the gang of course, you know who you are .-) |

There was no bass. It was AphexTwin.nu Phobs also had autechre.nu and plaid.co.uk Before they were all merged since before 1997, yes, 1997 when I joined after lurking a while And There Was No Bass Back then (yet) |
