an AI that watches TV series and generates summaries of
them. that they're entirely believable and mostly correct,
but, here and there... it essentially fabricates a plot
spoiler that didn't actually exist based on extrapolating
from the actual plot [like, oh, yeah, they'd totally do
that, wouldn't they?]

seed it into the search results that people get when they're
actually looking for a proper summary. some of them will
believe the AI-hallucinated spoilers. they'll cite it as a
source. this will bring in more traffic. that i see more
money in this than providing fully accurate summaries to
people who haven't seen the show

company name: something something, reader's digest,
digestive biscuits, etc

app/site where you post a track you made
and someone else posts theirs, comments on yours (ideally
with production notes)
but you cant see the comment till you listen to THIER track
and do the same.

thats my idea, tit for tat.

other than that: some fantasy phone bullshit poker that
takes a rake. Plenty of poker games but no big ones really
capitalizing on a fantasy asthetic where you unbox waifus or
something.

$2/mo AI bot that listens to someone's track and posts a
comment that actually feels like someone listened to it,
even though it's a bot. such a technology could trigger a
complete metamorphosis on soundcloud and be a temporary
kingmaker in hip-hop.

also it defeats the point of your thing. i'm afraid you'll
have to build a new one, one that is more clever and
difficult to defeat. that, hell, i could just reply "cool
track bro" and click "comment" and i've technically
fulfilled your requirements, listening to it or not.

web browsers don't come with the ludovico technique. that,
if, finally, someone did actually figure out how to prevent
faking a listen to a track on an internet site... again,
that could trigger a complete metamorphosis on soundcloud

however, i hear what you want down there -- a site that
encourages community and isn't just a constant spam leech.
for this, you can't just impose some requirement like that;
you have to get deeply psychological, on the level of the
very legitimate debate about whether you have [thumbs up /
thumbs down] or just a "like" button and what this does to
social interaction as it cascades over large groups

but no, you can't use much of that research. instead you're
pretty much looking to invent something like china's social
point score thing for a well-managed community of polite
mature people, i suppose, and good luck with that

startup idea: feed the leaked trove of top secret government
documents into an AI, and then ask it to generate new top
secret documents on this or that topic. i'm sure you can
find any number of buyers

$2/mo to solve 200 captchas -- type the letters, click all
the motorcycles, whatever. in fact, i'm shocked this hasn't
been decimated already

but... i dunno if quite legally, but making this one of the
less dodgy ones... you limit people to 200/mo because at
that scale it'll save real individuals loads of time but not
be liberal enough to be a magnet for the spammers, troll
farms, etc.

obviously some of those will slip through and create
duplicate accounts. that how many of those we manage to find
and shut down, i suppose, depends on how busy we are with
our bottom line

some design thots 4 u

1) a bit odd these days but i think you want to make this
download only to start. like, you can't stream to listen.
because downloading is an inherent commitment, slight as it
is. the track stays on your hard drive until you actively
delete it. you aren't just clicking play and skimming a bit,
you have to add the file to a playlist, click play. focus
for a freaking moment

2) while stressing utmost to create a situation where a few
shitlord influencer tweens kill everyone else, you want to
create a social scoring system. that someone builds up a
reputation by leaving quality reviews. but not as direct as
reddit's karma; you need to stress... how to encourage good
behavior; quality reviews

re: download only: anyone can download anything you post on
soundcloud in 128kb. forcing that to be download-only is
technically no different.

you want robots to do the yellow press?
do you know how many people that would put out of work?!
we cannot afford this in times of crisis...
this could be interesting in legal terms though,
if the ai gets sued, once in court the ai will then claim
human rights, become unreasonably wealthy
and soon rule the earth!

> yellow press

gosh, i've never heard this phrase. guessing: yellow, the
piss?
that in absence of any other data, this sounds like a phrase
new zealand would generate

would appreciate more info on this.

otherwise: you replied to my top secret AI generator post?
the point here is to milk money out of shady governments
looking to spy on the US, which means p. much every gov.
other than the US. if you can do, like, fake russian top
secret documents, then you can get the uncle sam money. and
really, i'm getting serious responding to wolfslice, but the
idea of this topic was to generate the most amusingly
terrible AI ideas i could think of. and i see no end in
sight

[design for woffers, cont'd]

3) what is the direction of this, overall? that i was kind
of presuming a completely unpretentious mutual review system
where the credit system actually discourages anyone from
becoming "famous," that's also why to puckishly make it a
non-streaming site. but

4) if you could somehow correlate reviews to the resulting
quality of music through data, i could see that going
somewhere larger

gosh, i'm having fun now

5) say aphex twin signs up for your site. no algorithm or
credit system can stop that flood once someone figures out
-- that flywalrus911 (autogenerated names on this system
will not be like user34589345thx) is afx. so now what do we
do with this? do we allow someone to review loads of tracks
and, like, buy one actual review from his nibs? if he deigns
to do any

i think i said something like "good luck with that" in my
more sarcastic first reply. but perhaps you could do this,
vaguely. and here is about where it would become a nightmare
and cease to be what you intended

7) Steal the thing from RPGs where once you hit the end
level wall you essentially start over with a few epic-level
skills. except you don't get shit except not having to start
from scratch. so if someone like afx joins they get
auto-renamed from flywalrus911 to sicklywombat88 and please
more or less start over. but if you're just some guy hitting
this point it carries your credit over so you can more or
less continue without interruption.

48) obviously some people will cheat and swap their
newly-anonymized aliases out of band. that presuming you're
not purely enforcing a roulette system -- wouldn't advise --
it'll be pretty easy to catch people because the same two
jamokes find each other at new names with no context

"I took their plutonium and in turn gave them a shiny bomb
case full of used pinball machine parts!"

[and this would wind up for you about as well as it did for
doc brown. but, up until that point... this. would. work]

It would be funny if aphex signed up and posted some of his
more wack-ass tracks. He'd probably laugh while getting
comments like "yo i like it but those hi hats are a little
fuzzy"

"what is the direction of this, overall?"

It's just a place to post a track and get a few listens
while listening to others. It kinda sucks to just spam.

It's not really a practical app idea. I also hadn't
considered the AI comment harvesters. Would they also be
generating and posting their own AI music, each time? Are
*YOU* AI?!
