only768/128...i don't even get at least 1mb? wtf? is this

That's about average. And don't be surprised if you get less
than 768. I supposedly am on a 768 line but only get 610 or
so, which translates to about 75k/sec download, give or take
a few, and about 16k/sec uploads.

Oh, if you have cable service in your area I suggest you try
that first. What sucks about DSL is you'll never more speed
than what they sell you. With cable, depending on the time
of day, you can get astronomical download speeds.

dsl works better in france cause here, the telephone works
better than the cable.
for some reason, cable is much better in us...

i live in an apt...i was told that it shares my bandwidth...

Nanotech, I think that bandwidth sharing thing is greatly
exaggerated. Actually I think the DSL companies themselves
make the most of the issue.

Think of it this way. Even if it does slow down during peak
hours, would you rather have 200k/sec, 300k/sec or more
during off peak hours, or have DSL where you'll probably
never see even 100k/sec at any time?

I'm not sure. I didn't get wise to it until I was already a
few months into my contract, I agreed to a 1-year deal. If
they haven't shipped out your stuff yet I would call them
and see if you can cancel. But only after checking out what
your cable company has to offer.

ok, i've been really busy...and haven't really had time to
research this myself...so if i could start a poll on this
topic...i'd greatly apreciate feedback...

how many of you have dsl? cable? why did you choose x over
y? which would be best for me? i'm looking to spent up to
$50, and live in an apt (i heard that cabel shares bandwith,
and that apts are murder for such reasons)...

-sincerest thanks
