How many of you also like Tori Amos? I saw someone say
that they thought they were the only Tori fan here, but I
love Tori, too. And so does pantalaimon (sp?)
So, I was wondering how many are there? My best friend is
the biggest Tori fan, and she doesn't like aphex.

Cool, Ross! I grew up liking Tori.
My favorite albums when I was 8 were Violator, Pretty Hate
Machine, and Little Earthquakes.

LOVE tori.....i saw her for the first time in Vancouver last
November. The show was a REAL downer, her voice is
AMAZING....and what a musician. Dunno if i'd venture to see
her again based on my mood following the show, but i'm glad
i went. AND i love listening to her cd's =)

Why was the show a downer? What happened?

offline B3n from Manchester (United Kingdom) on 2002-03-31 20:40 [#00152278]

she's married to and english bloke and live's here in

remember her saying on Richard & Judy

My girlfriend would really love to see Tori live
someday--hopefully I'll get to take her!

I'm guessing the show wasn't a downer as in a bad show but
rather a downer being really depressing. The kind where you
leave the concert needing a hug.

LeCoeur, i saw her in vancouver too..I thought it was a bit
of an anti-climax after liking her for 2 years, but she
played twinkle, which is one of my favorite Tori
songs..spookyluke- violator's a brilliant album as well,
such refined taste for being 8! heh..

just the music......it was really really sad.....and i dunno
there were GUYS around me crying and stuff....so i know it
wasn't just me....ehehhe

as i said.....she sings like an angel.....i just prefer not
to be depressed after concerts....ehehhe

i don't get the same effect listening to her CD's tho....so
i'm glad about that =)

this way!!!

hahahaha Thanks, Ross.
Violator is my favorite record of all time.
It's actually my aunt's favor--She babysat me when I was
about 6-10 and I got used to listening to her CD
collection--so I loved some things and hated others, but
those three were classics.
Plus, I was the only 8-year-old who could recite personal
jesus ahahha

I used to be a HUGE Tori fan. For four years I only listened
to her music saw her in concert many times and met her.
Although her music is an acquired taste the talent she has
is easily respectable. AWESOME musician.

It was me who said that

I'm totally surprised to see so many people liking both Tori
and Aphex. You have to really be into the music to
appreciate the beauty of it all. My fave 3 tracks are: 'Yes
Anastasia'(musically), 'Silent all these years'(emotional)
and 'Muhammed my Friend'(clever lyrics). I like her the best
singing behind the piano.

i'm listening to "i i e e e", brilliant track, one of the
best on "from the choirgirl hotel"

aphex twin fans have good taste : )

My girlfriend convinced me to listen to CGH! I was a little
afraid to listen to it because I didn't want it to destroy
my long-standing opinion of Tori as a great musician, so I
hadn't heard it except for bits and pieces here and there.
Glad she did--it's one of my favorite records. I love
cruel, iieee, liquid diamonds, and playboy mommy best--but
all tracks are fantastic!

I really like the remix Armand Van Helden did of her song
'Professional Widow'. What Tori cd would the actual song be
on?

Amonbrune, thanks!
It's me, I made me a twin! :D But it's small so kind of
hard to see. ;(
I'm handy with graphics, I think.
Professional Widow is on Boys for Pele--a great record.
