Never mind the crime, I reckon Detroit's driving is the most dangerous, not just in America, but the worst I've seen anywhere in the world. It's like a bunch of 18 year old boys with road rage, only they're in 2 ton 6 litre behemoths, rather than vauxhall corsas.

Possibly an AP stock photo. You live in in the (safer?) suburbs don't you?

when i lived in the suburbs, yes ... obie trice was shot on the freeway and he attempted to escape.
he pulled off the freeway onto the road that i (at the time) lived at.
me and my friend were outside the garage having a few cold ones, chatting etc ... heard a car crash a bit (nothing major - (road conditions were icey/snow covered) and i walked over to offer assistance.
the guy was screaming at the girl like "go go go", i didn't know what was going on; assumed car was stolen or they didn't have insurance. called the police; they arrived a few minutes later and questioned me. found out the next morning (from the news) it was obie trice. heh,
i live downtown now. detroit (downtown) isn't really dangerous at all; it's a ghost town. i've never had anything happen to me that would be considered negative; outside of downtown it can get pretty nasty.

one of my best buds was in bangladesh earlier this year when those crazy floods happened and they shut the country down. he had to get across the country to catch the last plane out, so he paid a taxi driver like $100 to make a seven hour drive in 4.
he said it was the most insane thing ever, zooming through tiny villages in the monsoon going like 70 over dirt roads with massive pot holes.
he's got a few pictures, but they're mainly just blurry shots with a hand cart in the jungle.
