The song Safe As Milk drills into your mind and stays there
till the day you die

trout mask replica completely wiped away everything else in
my brain and reprogrammed it with the greatness that is
trout mask replica. it'll always hold a special spot in my
(beef)heart

I already got all his stuff like 3 years ago. It's mostly
all genius.

I also like Deerhoof. They remind me a lot of his backing
'Magic band' musically.

frank zappa's alright, but nowhere near the greatness that
captain beefheart and his magic band achieved.

I love that song, A Carrot Is As Close As A Rabbit Gets To A
Diamond.

They both went for it. I'm not going to choose.

yeah, i think they both did their own thing very, very well.
no need to pick one, they were sufficiently different when
it came to music. the stuff they did together was fun too.

When they were touring together, Art Tripp said it was like
having two of the hugest egoes clash every time they were
around each other, Beefheart used to draw pictures of Zappa
as satan and other characters in his sketchbook all the
time.

zappa is approximately 10359871592 times better than
beefheart in terms of musicianship. beefheart couldn't even
count a rhythm and needed help recording due to that.

beefheart - utter shit, for the most part, in my opinion

yeah, beefheart just seemed more like a painter with a lot
of paint to throw down on a canvas.

zappa was all about composing music.
