ok, checking out prices...
totally out of range except the shuffle 1gb.
that would be 80€
i can get 2x2gb no-name-mp3-players for one shuffle!
they dont look sexy though.

so what makes apples so fucking special
that i pay 4x times the money ?

the new ipod nanos are a thousand times sexier than i
thought they'd be.

the black one (8gb) is beauty, except i would like just a
little more space than that. my 20 gig is fine.

excellent build quality. i've got 2 now. my first one lasted
almost 5 years, still plays now but the battery's shite.
shitty no-namers wont last 5 years ;)

being a pc fanboy i was dead against getting anything apple.
but they fucking rule. my next laptop will be a mac.

thats definately a factor.
is i-tunes the only interface on a computer
to put songs on it? heard a few quarrels about that, which
dont matter to me, but in general i hate it to load a big
program to just change a few songs...

i have a g4 ipod video and i quite like it.. it was cheaper

more.

A Sony D-e356ck cd discman. I got an iPod mini from a buddy,
but the battery life is bogus, frustrating, and imo not
worth the cash.

Elusive, I'd recommed an mp3 disc player as they've
performed reliably longer (personal experience) than most
iPod owners I've met.

pitch/commission incentive has regretted it. everyone of
them.

I trust my dollar to those historical machines w/ a sense of
technologic longevity over immediate commercial relevance.
The ipod mini, already two/three years old, has thoroughly
decomposed in the hands of all acquainted owners.

I suppose a factor is whether you'd rather patiently let an
iPod charge or simply pop in some AA's for longer playing.
If you're ADD and you want your music in quick 5-10 minute
doses, buy an iPud. Anything more, expect a pissed [__]
everytime you turn it on.
