Who's got it? Oh shit, dawg, gorgeous and runs at a butter
smooth 60fps, and full of so many excellent set-pieces. I'm
sort of surprised by how superbly atmospheric this game is
despite its ''generic'' settings. It just feels awesome.
Could really do without the infinite spawning crap during
some of the aforementioned set-pieces, but whatever. Nice
return to form for the series.

I've got the PS3 version, my psn id is revolverjgw

Haven't played the full version of it yet, but I wasn't
particularly impressed... it runs very smoothly, but
something about the sky graphics make the game feel like it
takes place in a large box.. they just aren't high-res
enough and feel confining. Graphics being the least
important aspect of good gameplay, I would gladly overlook
that, but I do not like the "shoot through everything"
mechanic in the game. Just because you can shoot through
dry-wall doesnt mean you can shoot through brick or solid
concrete walls, but as far as the demo goes, it makes no
difference. It feels as though they simply threw in that
mechanic without really taking the time to implement it in a
way that it makes sense. Anyone who has visited or seen
photos of areas where firefights have taken place can tell
you that all the walls are pockmarket with bullet holes,
most of which do not pass through the wall (where small arms
are concerned). From what I've heard from people with the
full version, this "paper-thin-wall" mechanic devolves
multiplayer into a spawn-camp fest as people grenade-spam
and shoot through the walls of the spawn area. This is
exactly the direction I had hoped the multiplayer for CoD
wouldn't take. Instead of implementing a stamina system to
curb bunny-hopping, they give the bunny-hoppers more power
by allowing them to jump around like morons while shooting
through walls. When you couple this with the UAV
reconnaissance drones that allow you to see people through
walls, you end up with very unbalanced multiplayer. As I
said I haven't played the full version, so you'll have to
take my comments with a grain of salt. Gamespot's review has
said that the Singleplayer campaign is very short, and if
the multiplayer is truly this bad, then I'll have to wait
until the price drops to justify paying for this game.

I can't really speak for the multiplayer, haven't tried it
yet and I don't think I'm going to put that much time into
it, I'm too busy with
online Warhawk. I don't spend much time on FPS multi. The
campaign is awesome though, the same linear scripted
epic-ness. May be short, and I feel like I'm going to beat
it in 6-7 hours, but I'll run through it on veteran and that
struggle should justify the price-tag.

To be honest, the singleplayer campaign seems like it would
be absolutely awesome, even if it's short. I am a pretty big
FPS-multiplayer though, so if I'm going to buy it, I would
want the MP to live up to my expectations. It appears that,
as of right now, it doesn't (they even took away CTF mode
from CoD), but once the price drops I will still most likely
purchase this game just for the epic singleplayer.

Isn't it just another copy/paste of the previous games and
medal of honour and all those other games that are
copy/pastes of whichever one was the first one or, possibly,
a movie?

Call do Duty 3 was ho-hum and this is awesome, So, no, not
really. The Medal of Honor games aren't even in the same
league.

And fuck I am getting plastered online. Though it is pretty
good... sort of annoyingly claustrophobic and confined at
times, but that IS sort of the point of these modern urban
skirmishes. I haven't tried all the maps (and I didn't play
the beta) but I don't see a problem firing through shit.
Cover is just... cover, unless you hide somewhere stupid.

Oooh I like the SAS missions, especially the one at
Chernobyl. Strictly linear and highly scripted, but that
makes it feel smooth and cool working in tandem with your
captain, crawling through the grass amongst patrols and
picking and choosing who you should take out.

I wish there was more stealth of that ilk in these games.
The nighttime SAS missions feel great too, but the little
snippets of stealth in those missions leave me wanting more.

I cannot get bothered by action shooting games. Got myself a
360 and the only FPS game I enjoyed was Bioshock. All the
other games intending to recreate a war atmosphere can go
fuck themselves. Real war is boring enough.

ASSASSIN'S CREED FOR PRESIDENT

You REALLY like Bioshock, don't you?

But yeah Assassin's Creed looks amazing, it's come a long
way. Thief is probably my second favorite series of all time
and Assassin's Creed looks like some kind expanded version
of ''The City'' from Thief 3. Or the ''Thieve's Highway''
from Thief 2. Holy shit I can't wait for this.

Uncharted/Assassin's Creed/Mario Galaxy/Mass Effect in the
next week or two, crazy

My mate has assassins creed but says its boring after the
first couple of missions, very pretty though

as for call of duty, i've played it round my mates house on
his ps3 and the shooting through everything with certain
weapons is bloody annoying!

anybody else find some of the ariel infared battle scenes
very disturbing?

that shit looks identical to the footage you see of iraqis
getting toasted by explosives from thousands of feet in the
air.

it makes me sad that kids are playing this shit, it really
does. and i am a huge fan of mortal kombat, its not the
violence that bothers me its more the dessenitizing people
to the concept of very realistic warfare that resembles
exactly a war happening right now

If that's your concern, you should boycott videogames
altogether because they only reason they don't make games
look completely realistic now is because they don't have the
technology. One day violence in games will be so lifelike it
will be completely indistinguishable from reality.

it took me ages to get extracted on the SAS mission at the
end by the Ferris wheel, they just keep coming and those
fucking dogs man, i hate them. over all a great game very
cinematic, intense and fun.

"you should boycott videogames

by the time games look perfectly realistic the human race
will have almost literally turned into digital steam

"anybody else find some of the ariel infared battle scenes

it felt weird to play that part because of how realistic it
was, disturbing is the right word... that part was maybe a
bit too real.
