Hello there, I'll be eternally grateful if someone can help
me with this. I went and purchased Hellgate: London (a PC
game) yesterday, and after I had installed it and tried to
run it, I got the error message:

"C:\windowssystem32d3dx9_34.dll is either not designed to
run on Windows or contains an error. Try installing the
program again using the original instillation media or
contact your system administrator or the software vendor for
support"

So i redownloaded the d3dx9_34.dll and that did nothing, so
I tried reinstalling all of Direct X and I get this error:

"A cabinet file necessary for installation cannot be
trusted. Please verify the cryptographic services are
enabled and the cabinet file certificate is valid."

Well, I verified that the cryptographic services are enabled
(it's set to started and automatic), so I have no idea what
to do at this point. DirectX seems to be corrupted, but I
can't reinstall it. Some games seem to work, such as the
demos for Unreal Tournament 3 and FEAR: Perseus mandate. But
most games such as crysis demo, hellgate london, timeshift,
etc. all say the same thing about my direct x dll files.

I have no idea what could have caused this, considering as
of just yesterday things were working fine. However, windows
Vista has repeatedly failed to install an important Internet
explorer update, so perhaps because of windows' failure to
update I got some sort of a virus? I've already installed
the newest drivers for my geforce 8800 gts (I had been
running beta drivers and thought that might be the problem),
but I'm on official release drivers, now. I've also
rebooted the computer several times, to no avail. Any help
you guys can offer on this subject would be GREATLY
appreciate. As I said I would be forever in debt because as
of right now my brand new system is basically useless.

"C:\windowssystem32d3dx9_34.dll" should read
"C:\\windows\system32\d3dx9_34.dll"
