bural is a good child-boy music maker, and I like the
dubstep. Step on floor, walk forwards, find naked hoof.

the way to work! Its exceeded expectations for me, much more
energy than the last album, I love both albums but for
different reasons.

excellent album. makes his debut album seem like a backbone
to his refined style on untrue. both albums are amazing.
couldn't be happier with them. the inland empire sample was
a nice touch.

Lovely album, outstanding in places yet flawed in others.
Archangel and Near Dark make for an incredible opening, but
the momentum doesn't stick unfortunately. Etched Headplate
is absolutely terrible, but thankfully Untrue and Raver are
superb. It is probably more coherant than the first album,
and definately just as good (if not better)

Feral Witchchild is an amazing track btw. Can't wait for
that to drop in Feb.

ok, i'm a bit disappointed in this. Listened to it three or
four times through, although I was riding, so maybe didn't
give it a good chance. One or two tracks I like, maybe
Raver is the standout at the moment. I'm playing it now at
home, so we'll see what I think.

Worryingly, I actually I quite like it now. The vocal has
all the ingredients for something i'd hate (high pitched,
ultra cheesey and talking about fucking angels), but it does
kinda hook you in and definitely has some nice production
behind it. It has bass.

But... well, it's still embaressingly bad at the same time.
I'm confused.

I see what you mean. The vocals remind you of some rnb so
solid crew artful dodger bullshit but i think Burial has
fliped the script with his dirty and haunting yet beatifull
and sad production and music . Changed the vibe to something
else that is actualy soulfull for real.

offline Brisk from selling smack at the orphanage on 2007-11-17 09:38 [#02144529]

Don't get me wrong, i'm as big a Burial fanboy as anyone
else. It's just that particular track I have problems with.

The album is fantastic and probably the best thing i've
heard all year. The title track in particular has really
grown on me and is quickly becoming a favourite. It doesn't
have the instant appeal of something like Archangel or Near
Dark, but it has an understated quality to it which gives it
a timeless appeal. I love it.

loving it. what was laid out on the debut (sound
design/athmosphere) now gets a more song-like approach,
naturally, through the increased use of singing-samples
which makes it alot catchier, cheesier and thus, for me,
better! my instant fav was the title track, followed by
usual suspects archangel, raver..... i also enjoy etched
headplate alot!
btw, does anyone know if some of the interludes are really
missing on the vinyl release or are they just not indicated
as seperate tracks? double lp should be enough for
everything, no? because if they're indeed not on there it'll
be a hard pick which version to purchase, wouldn't want to
miss in mcdonalds for example...
