I love this song. whenever i hear it i have to stop
whatever i'm doing and just...listen. one of the few tracks
that has the power to make me cry. anyone else have any
other uber-depressing but beautiful songs they'd like to
talk about?

for sure, the most emotional song for me is 28mix..... it
doesn't bring me to tears or anything it just fucks with my
head.

Sigur Ros - Staralfur.

True Love Waits. I downloaded it like 2 years ago and I
listened to this cheap recording on my comp and I lost it.
The version on IMBW sucks though.

i love that radiohead track, xlr.
motion picture soundtrack, off of the same album gets me
everytime. such a beautiful song.

the flashbulb also makes some really really nice sorta sad
electronic, drill stuff.
www.theflashbulb.net <--- i think there's a couple tracks
there.

right now im listening to isan's 'dilly'...which for me is
one of those tracks...so subtle and beautiful...while very
melancholic...

squarepusher's 'my sound' definitely...this is one of the
only songs that has almost always gotten an emotional
response from me...

radiohead make a lot of these songs of course... 'how to...'
being one of their best...street spirit, motion picture
soundtrack, like spinning plates (live and studio), true
love waits (i liked the old version with the synth a lot
too...), bulletproof...

aphex's iz us, nannou2, pancake lizard, mookid...

boc's sixtyniner, music is math, open the light, etc...

underworld's stagger, tongue

proem's cold water(flat)

a lot of harold budd + brian eno's stuff is like this...
pretty much anything from the pearl or ambient 2...
its all so desolate and melancholic...while very beautiful
and peaceful at the same time...it fits this time of
year...where i live ..very well

Vidrar Vel Til Loftarasa by Sigur Ros is pretty sad (and
pretty powerful). How to disappear completely and You and
whose army are nice as well. The latter of which always
seems to make the hair on the back of my neck stick up once
that piano lands. *shivers* awesome!

lichen is d2, t8. radiohead seems to be pretty good at that
type of stuff. kid a (the song) does it for me, as does
exit music (for a film)

(yay, 100!)

Barber's Adagio for Strings has gota be the most moving song
I've ever heard. But Sigur Ros and Godspeed You Black
Emporer also have some pretty powerful stuff.

I love Sigur Ros... lots of their songs get to me... Flim
kinda makes me happy now, but when I first listened to it it
almost made me cry (I can't remember ever crying to music,
but some songs have almost made me cry)... Alberto Balsalm
when the second chorus part comes in with the higher pitched
synth part... Rhubarb from SAWII... Cichli from Chiastic
Slide... Girl/Boy Song as well when I was first getting into
it... oh, and I hate to constantly preach about how much I
love this album, Passion always gets to me... Passion can
bring out any feeling in me... I love the album so much...

ISAN remix of Seefeel's "when Face was Face" is really sad.
With that big dirty bassline it comes as close as any song
can to making me cry.
