Horsefactory: good question. no, you cannot. first of
all, "manic depression" is now more properly called "bipolar
disorder". In the diagnostic manual criterion c is "there
has never been a manic episode." Manic Episode + Depressive
Episode = Bipolar Disorder (generally speaking, understand
than i am oversimplifying the diagnostic process
significantly). All mood diagnoses include a caveat along
the lines of "the symptoms are not the result of a substance
or medical condition."

insomnia and impulse control are symptoms, not disorders in
their own right.

regardless, if you really do have bipolar disorder the drugs
you are doing will only make things worse. best of luck,
man.

I had to take a hell of a lot of drugs to try and forget
this thread.

You will eventually pay for all this fun you're
currently having. I've seen it happen so many times. You'll
become dependent and probably spend all your paychecks on
meth in the end, stealing from the registers where you work
to supply your habit. Then finally you'll get arrested for
some kind of driving infraction and get a year for
possession of methamphetamine and crack. That's the path
you're riding on.

My advice: if you have to get fucked up, stick to alcohol,
herb, on maybe occasionally an odd mushroom trip. All that
in moderation. You can still fuck your life up pretty bad
with alcohol but at least it's pretty cheap.

Next time you do drugs, remember to wear Rayban shades and a
tight leather jacket. This lets other people know that you
are a "cool dude".

There are other ways of accessing all sorts of interesting
and wonderful Ideas lurking around your subconscious without
resorting to sniffing or injecting or smoking. If that's
your method of preferance, fine, but with the chemicals
you're indulging in it'll only lead to dead ends. Those
things feel good, but the results are trash.

I didn't read the whole thread but I'd like to add
something. Having fun at the expense of destroying your
future self is stupid. Very stupid.

As hedphukkerr was saying, word retrieval is terrible and I
wish I had that back. You'll start to notice alot of little
things that are going to make you look back and wish you
weren't such a fucking moron.

One of the worst things aside from having trouble
communicating properly is memory loss. I can't remember what
happened yesterday unless someone reminds me, then it all
comes back. You'll start needing assisted memory, it's
little things like that. You tard.

That's a wicked book, really depressing and neurotic but
funny at the same time. I read this article in The
Independent a while back saying that a lot of people who
read it actually start to get physically sick, headaches,
flu like symptoms, etc... I can believe it.

Yeah, Richard Tull's experimental book makes people have
blackouts and seisures after a few pages...maybe he was
influenced by reactions to London Fields, it has a
reputation as a really grim read.

Your drug problem could quite easily kill you. But don't
worry, you won't be missed, it's more than likely that
everyone thinks you're a major asshole.

Well, I never knew that. The grimest part of reading London
Fields for me was that I was actually living in Acton whilst
I was.. reading.. it. I fucking hate West London
(Earls Court, Sheperds Bush, Acton, Ealing, and beyond) WHAT
A SHIT HOLE.

My god, who is the major asshole? This kid looks like he has
some problems, yes, but I don' t think he is an asshole and
I certainly don't wish him any ill will. He is just looking
for attention, like you.

I live near-ish Acton, actually, in Osterley. It's quite
dreary here; it's not a shit-hole by any means, it's quite
pleasant in some ways, but so characterless, so grey, so
impersonal. I hate Acton, but there's a Digital Village
there, and you can try all the lovely new synths for a
couple of hours while the staff stare into vacantly into
space.

I thought "London Fields" would be hard going from what I
had heard, but it's been a real page turner, and I can
relate all the characters I know in it to someone in real
life, even if the whole set-up is purposefully contrived an
inhumane and the way it all works out quite unbelievable.
Great book.

like someone who is sensible enough to use drugs without it
ending in a disaster

Instead of hitting all that hard stuff, you should stick
with grass. There are also a lot of legal herbs and
whatnots that are effective and won't kill you or give you
severe mental problems.

I recommend: Blue & White Lotus
