"i wonder if Richard is busy because of
Thanksgiving"

Every time I check this thread there is a little golden
nugget of genius that cements my belief that, if I were
Richard, I would come to places like this every time I
needed a little cheering up.

anything.

I think he used Ableton for most of Hangable Auto Bulb

cause near the end of Wabby Legs , it sounds just like the
Resonator Device on the drum/bongo sound that comes in at
about 4 minutes.

i just love how he slices beats like that in variations, it
sounds like locusts flying over your head

Ableton didn't even exist when he made HAB pulsecock.

software from the future

just going by what mr burroughs said plus, i mean its been
like 6 or 7 years since a release by that name, wtf....what
else could it be? he is obviously not done, and if he is
still around, what is he waiting for. the longer you make
people wait, the better it has to be. if his follow up to
drukqs comes 7 years after it, it better top that record in
every way, which i dont think is possible.

Richard, To Cure A Weakling Child (Contour Regard) is 1000%
perfect and you should still use whatever creation process
you used for that instead of recording your parents sing
happy birthday to you (which is a copyrighted song by the
way so I shall alert the authorities in case they missed
it).

offline bogala from NYC (United States) on 2007-11-25 23:45 [#02147857]

there are Men records?

Why can't we just let people release music without pressure
so that maybe they can have a good time making it and be
happy to let it out into the world instead of expecting a
shit storm of criticism ad nauseam from a bunch of fan boys?
Myself included.

Aphex Twin's secret is he works at McDonalds with Bill
Burroughs. bill burroughs was passed over by Ricky for the
fry master promotion. Richard D James is also a 300 pound
black woman who died 100 years ago in a drug deal gone wrong

well aphex has a point. and surely IDM (what a pointless
wank term) died a long time ago? autechre have been shite
for years, boards have split, majority of the rephlex back
catalogue just try and sound like aphex, or certainly would
not have produced the type and style of music had aphex had
not done so first. just listen to he quality and depth of
the analord stuff, fair enough its a few years old, but even
at the time it blew every other 'IDM' track out of the
water. the current 'scene' is drab boring and uninventive.
it stinks of pigshit. and if you disagree with me, thats
fine - because i have just caught sight of myself in the
mirror, and i am the most attractive person i have ever
seen, and i am the best looking person on this messageboard
by far.

i had curry for tea, (chicken tikka masala). It was ok, rice
was a bit watery to be honest, and there was a lack of
flavour to the naan bread. way too doughy.

"Kirt was definitely a deep thinker, and was murdered for
his belief in truth and freedom. Just another sacrifice for
trying to reveal the New World Order."

Christ.

Sorry, i'm not having a go or anything...but i mean come
on...rock is dead, music is dead...argh.. he doesn't even
realise he's basically bigging himself up here.

Once something has been put in a box and categorised it's
bound to "die". Because it's been put in a box and once it
evolves you have to find another name for it. Like
jungle/drum and bass back in the mid nineties... take away
that break and what does it become? Something else.

drunk posting...could regret this

true... the genre thing.

the video was just funny because hes talking about the same
things that some people in this forum said about idm: that
the kids dont care about it, its disguisting to see what
happened, people just do it to get laid.

and then hes talking about cyberspace and about getting
addicted to the VR machines... lol

i guess though that if you spent all of your time making
music you would get possessive about it, and even aphex must
care on some level what people think about his stuff. plus
if all you ever do is make tunes, when you come to put it
out it must be emotionally exhausting. or maybe im just
talking out my arse and its actually really great fun and
everybody loves you for it.
