i went to purchase something on ebay 'buy now' i went to pay via pay pal when the total shot up (added VAT) i didnt see it in the description . (but it is there...eek) something that should be £165 ..is now with delivery costs £207 i feel , not so well . shall i just not pay ? |

i managed to avoid paying. i just wrote a letter regarding the way the item was decribed. it was very clever in that random capital letters were employed within the words and full stops were not included all the time 'where they should be' in the sentances. i said i found it hard to envisage wherre the punctuation should have been.and that there were many ways to read the description. jesus christ. EVERY TIME FROM NOW ON !! i am going to ask and say look is this xxxx the total amount i will have to pay and are there any hiddeden charges. is the item brand new ,still sealed? when do you predict i shall receive the item to my door and can i have recorded delivery? ect ect . and always comunicate throught the ebay email system...never via your own email (this way it is recorded) and if they dont answer to your questions!! sod em!!! it wasnt about the money so much. i just dont like that feeling of Economic ENERGY RAPE! har har! freq out! x |

What was the item? If you are buying something like preofessional tools that could perceptibly be mainly sold for business use, listing the VAT price is fair enough (although they should still clearly be marked as such) and it is your mistake. If they were selling a videogames console/whatever, it's not on and I'd of walked away with a clear conscience. |

Just offer to pay the eBays fees and you shouldn't get negative feedback I've done it before and it works for both of us. But yeah from now on I always read the description properly and if it looks dodgy I skip it, even it ends up being real and I would get the deal of century I prefer to not take chances. |
