I don't recycle... actually, I sometimes litter! Gasp!
Today, I couldn't finish my Ginger Ale, so I poured it on
the street and threw the bottle up into a tree. Hope that
tree will recycle the bottle for me...

We have paper collections on different days of the week from
the rubbish collections. But I'm afraid I don't recycle to
the extent of seperating all of my household waste

For some reason, the services for recycling here is, "You
want to recycle? Erm... go on, its a free country."

Yes I agree with you Darth Manchu. I'm sure if the
authorities made the effort to provide better facilities to
collect the recyclable waste from your doorstep, a lot more
people would do it.

it's kinda good when authorities enforce things that are
good for the planet for a change

My girlfriend goes out of her way to recycle, I tend to
agree with Darth and Chris. I'd be more inclined if the
government sorted it out.

We have 3 different garbage-sections: paper,
vegitables/fruit/garden and rest. If we put the garbage in
the wrong compartment too many times, they won't pick up
your trash anymore...

the city picks up our recylcing.. infact, they did it today
we just put recycleable glass, plastic, newspapers,
cardboard, etc.. into a "blue box", which is collected just
like garbage
its amazing
i dont know why people complain about having to 'sort
through' their trash.. what r u talking about?
just put ur recycle-ables into a seperate container to begin
with
its really not that hard

i cant believe recylcling isn't more popular than it already
is... how much shitter does our planet have to become before
we care?

i'll conclude with a favourite quote of mine:
"put it in the trash, you white trash!"
or, in this case:
"recycle your trash, you white trash!"

The authorities here in South Wales won't even take small
garden rubbish away in our black bin bags. They tell us that
we have to put it in green bags. So this one time I bought
some green bags from the garden superstore and filled them
with grass cuttings and stuff, and they refused to take
them!!! We apparently have to buy our 'authorities' bags
with their logo on it! Their bags cost about £1.60 each, as
opposed to a roll of 20 for about £4.00. They say that
we're paying for the service, not the bag!

And the worst thing, they throw the damn bags into the same
truck with all the rest of the garbage - it takes the piss!
And they wonder why more don't recycle!!! Does anyone else
have this kinda problem where they live?

hhmmmmm...... this seems to be another area where european
countries kick north america's ass

you guys are so much more enviromentally friendly than us...
i dont remember any specific statistics, but i remember lots
of cases (in the news, documentaries, etc) in which u guys
consumed way less electricity per capita, produced less
waste/recylced more, etc
and more of ur energy supposedly comes from envirmentally
friendly sources...

north americans (and others too i guess) wont give a damn
about our planet until it becomes a more immediate problem,
or there is financial incentive to change
we wont bother considering electric power until we run out
of gas, or until it becomes so expensive that alternative
sources would be cheaper, or our own children die of smog
poisoning, or some other polution-related death.
people dont care about anything other than how much money
they take home at the end of the month

our society is so short sited....

its pretty fucking depressing when u consider where we are
headed
we have some pretty important decisions/issues to face...
and i dont know if we can be trusted with them

We (or should I say I..) hide small amounts of garden
rubbish inside the normal black bin bags - and they take it
away!

Ha Ha Ha ! ! :)

I recycle organic waste and put it on the garden. Or shall i
say my parents do. Newspapers and cardboard go in a box and
metal goes in its own little bin. Past that, i dont know and
i dont really care.
