i like material possessions, however i also like not looking
after them very well, and when people come up to me and go,
man if i owned your bass guitar i'd look after it a bit
better i just go "loser" and scratch it up with a stanley
knife. i like nice things in bad shape. i don't know why...

Don't say you are not materialistic unless you are happy to
give away everything you own and start again.

Google ads summing it up very succinctly - how ironic

all that is a tangible concept of ownership is just another
form of materialism
like those who might deem themselves spiritualistic, it is
just another form of a belief in an idea to satisfy and / or
block out impending demons to be faced

ha-ha, yes, voluntarily. I've never felt comfortable owning
things. Just about the only possession I wouldn't give away
would be my piano.

Yes, where the damaged doesn't effect the functionality of
it (IE scratches on CDs/records are a big no no) I'm like
that too. It's a bit like scars, but on objects, you feel as
if you've been through something with it. This lappy has a
blinking screen from when some baggage handler in a hotel
knackered it and a massive gash in one hinge and some road
rash on it from where it went down the road at 60mph. I feel
a lot more emotional about it than I would a new computer. I
suppose, considering I use it to do music, this is a good
thing.

the only way capitalism can survive is by keeping society a
bunch of fucking morons that buy shit they have absolutely
no NEED for. i mean how did anyone make any money
before guns? how really did a monetary based civilization
even get started? organized crime. people with guns that
killed other people for their land so you'd have to pay them
to use it even tho it isn't anybody's in the first place
otherwise they'd kill you with their guns for trespassing on
land that wasn't there's to begin with. [/rant]
