off topic but its what most of us are using to access this
site whilst i blast out Aphex

ive had problems browsing for a while ..when i try load up a
page with a fair amount of pics and text using firefox or
opera i get glitches and pops from my media players (vlc or
wmp ect) and the mouse pinter gets a little sloppy too.

but i just tried Internet explorer and wow every thing has
fixed itself no slight pops or glitches i can scroll down a
page before it has all loaded without problems.

why? has my xp got a bug so i can only use IE? weird its
like xp wont let me use anything else...without a headache.

anyone experience this type o thing too?

prolly the microsoft plan of making computers too shitty to
run other browsers.

since ie is a built in part of the windows os, it uses
comparably less resources than third party browsers, hence
the pops and glitches you speak of.

its really too unfortunate ie is a terrible browser, what
with being code bloated in its own right, no tabs (or
terribly implemented at this point i assume, they were the
last to get on the bandwagon), insecure and poor popup
blocking last time i used it.

Yea I wouldnt touch Firefox with a 10 foot pole. Firefox is
buggy, uses way too much memory and is a magnet for
viruses.

I highly recommend using Internet Explorer 7 which is
infinitely better than Firefox or any other browser for that
matter.

I find my firefox slows down a bit when I have a ton of shit
left completed in my download manager.

Otherwise it's a ton better than IE.

Prefer Firefox, more secure - but has its glitches.

I switched to IE7 when Firefox started getting a bit slow
and laggy. I haven't regretted it yet.

Opera is ass. When you press update, it doesn't really
update anything but the html-file. Any files that are
included or linked (css-files, image-files, etc), you have
to access directly (copy/paste URL to new tab) and update
separately.

This makes it even more ass for me, as the only times I use
Opera is when I'm testing designs for browser compliance,
which means I have to have a tab for each picture and each
css file, and then I have to update it all, one by one.

I can see why you dislike it then, Drunken.
I don't really have those problems.

the mouse pointer and sound (built in AC97?, mine has issues
too) getting sloppy problem could mean that there is
something wrong with a (audio, mb chipset?)driver somewhere.
You can also play with latency settings in the BIOS to see
if it helps (remember the original settings though).

more things to try:
-change priority of audioplayer
-increase buffersize in audiodriver
-block stupid ads in firefox and Opera (put blocklist in
urlfilter.ini)
-check new Opera 9.5(still alpha though), it wins lots of
speed benchmarks

thanks guys.. not just me then. ( wish it was, then you'd
all be o.k)

but yeah i'l try IE7 ..im sure i saw one with tabs once ?

yes i have to set the process priority of my media player
(vlc.wmp) to high so the glitches go away...even then its
not always perfect (ive got an expensive soundcard in there
too)

the main one for example is loading up my Ebay summary page
with lots of watched items and bidding ect...

its absolutely jerky as hell.. i have to wait a fair few
seconds before its all calmed down.

aswell with firefox ...i'll be watching an ebay item in a
search to see the price rise viia bids...but ...even if i
update /refresh the page , the numbers/£,$ hang and dont
update, im given false info (old information) i have to
individually go into each item to be sure of a price. its
fkd up.

ARRGGGgggg I really hate computers ...im constantly on them

and have been for freaking years ...yet i cant get my
browser to work. hahahaha

hahahahaahhaaahahaa

merry easter

I use Opera and it's the best out the package browser no
need to install 3rd party plugins, Drunken Mastah learn how
to use Opera you don't need to it manually like a monkey
"Reload from cache" and hit F5, Opera without a doubt is the
best thing to come out of Norway apart from cod fish.
