hello i've to fill up an mp3 player for an 8 year old girl.
(4 gigs)

im hoping to fill it with some nice pleasant soulful female
vocalists.

people like billie holiday eddie reader.. women with
talent.

please help cause i rarely listen to women.

i used to like kate bush ,(awesome vocalist) but she gave me
nightmares.

thanks

love freqy.

yeah, because little girls should only listen to female
artists.

what?

....the veronicas & merzbow

....no, of course -> Sade! (The albums "Love Deluxe" &
"Lovers Rock" & the 12" with the Naked Music remixes of "By
Your Side" is essential!)

Just give her Spice Girls, Girls Aloud and all that crap.
She aint gonna want Eno.

I was wondering the same thing as hedphukker... I'd say give
her plenty of female music to listen to, but I can't see any
reason for a person to remain ignorant to great music of any
kind, regardless of what gender created it.

yeah i kinda exaggerated my point . she wants to learn how
to sing , but for the life of me I couldn't think of many
female artists to help inspire her in a possitive none
pretentious way!

i have a trizillion amount of mp3s but they are mainly all
instrumental. which is good for improvising of course.

i just wanted to steer clear of that terrible modern chart
stuff where the only thing matters is the size of their
butt

i want those hidden gems that are heard at festivals and on
old vinyl records...you know what i mean?

peace:)

oh by the way...shes got miles davis , orb , aphex all of
that!! dont worry about that. just the mellow and
beautiful side for now.

i just have to be careful , because music does change the
mind.

its not my child. i have to be respectful.

i'd say bjork, some radiohead (like bends/okc era),
portishead, and sufjan stephens are all great examples of
telented vocalists, male or female.

i don't know that much about earlier stuff, but it seems
people will be able to fill that in nicely.

thanks everyone.

some nice suggestions.

surprised no one has mentioned marilyn manson yet or ..hey

are cheeky girls for little children i get confused?
hahaha

anyway i forgot how much i like female singers, after
meeting so many nasty women, tearing my heart out and
laughing at my pain, its not surprising i've avoided
them..and ive been listening to instrumental music now for
so long.

i must admit i love billie holiday her voice is so jazz and
reminds me of tom n jerry cartoons.

and fairground attraction is great too.

peace:)
