question,

do you think his next release (if it happens)
will be?
(Drill and bass, ambient, what?)

Prob Drill n' bass....i'd like to see some aphex power
electronics! (like the distro stuff in the end of track4
drukqs disc 1)

I'd like some ICBYD style, but I'm not expecting it...

i'd like to hear some melody work with not soo cluttered
beats, maybe wild at times, but more progressive and deep.

i want something electronic that richar has never done
before! something that'll blow us all away, and that'll give
us something to talk about!

I am praying for another ambience album. But realistically,
I will have to go with what zombiekev said.

i like the ambient background with the deeply impacting
melodies and slightly spastic beat structure, like off of I
care because you do.
i also liked the rdj album.

more evolved stuff like that would rock.
i would not be able to do anything but listen to it.

is there rumors about a new afx release coming soon? we're
talking like the next analouge bublebath instalment, right?
or just a RDJ release in general?

I want another work of art like I Care Because You Do...
something not so insane... a better balance between his
harsh and prettier sides. I want another Waxen Pith!

I want strict un-drill´n´bassish beats, complex
melodystructures, fresh sounds and kicking dancefloor
dynamics.
The continuation of Windowlicker that I thought Drukqs would
be..

no you are noth the only one:)
I mean I am reading what people wnat on the next album..and
it is all there on Drukgs..sparseness, ambience, melodies,
spooky atmospherics, ditty's (the more upbeat, beaty songs
but without Drill) and good ole drill'n'bass
and yet I hear more complains about it than kuddos..
I think Drukqs was such a well balanced release with a
really good coverage of all the various styles..should be
more like something to please everyone and the rest will
grow on you..but it's a shame it didn't workout like that..

Alberto Balsalm, yeah that would rock.
and a mix or two of fingerbib.

quality it would be fantastic...!!!

he could make so much money if he released all his
material... if he really was in it for the money he probably
would do that...

hmmmm.. i think (and hope) it'll be something more organic
not necesarily ambient, just organic
all the beats on drukqs seemed really digital (well, drill n
bass) EXCEPT for a few tracks like "bbydhyonchord"
more tracks like "bbydhyonchord" would be nice.... but maybe
a little less repetative.. and w/ more varaiety in sounds
used

that would be cool

and sort of new (for him) ((i THINK))

drukgs surprised me
coz to me it sunded like a bunch of outtakes from previous
releases kinda
like, you hear squarepusher'z direction
and u could afx's up to driukdfjss
where it sounded like stuff he had forgotten about till it
was time to release
dunno
maybe itz just me....

well...he claims in interviews that he has loads of
mind-blowing unreleased materials...
but for whatever reason wanted to release an album of
not-so-cutting edge stuff...in fear that if he did release
his more original material, it would be quickly ripped off
by aspiring musicians like ourselves...

theres also the fact that it will be released on
rephlex...where drukqs was supposedly to finish off his warp
contract...perhaps he was saving the next-level stuff for
his own label

this is the cool thing about aphex though...you really never
know what to expect from his new releases...

you guys sure are buying into all the internet rumours and
myths.... gotta start giving some of these rumours a
rest....

.... why are so many people so willing and proud to try to
make Richard seem like such an asshole, that he doesnt even
release his decent stuff, just his mediocre stuff... proof?
and what about people always saying that Drukqs is like 7-
12 years old, c'mon, little of it sounds like his earlier
releases, and a lot of it is software generated, and if it
is 2 or 4 years old, who cares, at least it got released,
the "drill" tracks sound like a different style to me,
hardly sound like they would fit on RDJ album... why can't
people be happy with what he has released, instead if going
totally fantasy and building him up to ridiculous
heights...
and what is the hangup with money with RDJ, somebody always
has to bring up that each release brings in suppossedly
bucketfuls of revenue... Aphex doesnt exactly move that many
units, and you would begrudge him to make a living?

you're right about there being tons of unreleased tunes.. if
he still lives in the bank then he probably has a whole
VAULT of unreleased dats. i think a series of unreleased
song compilations highlighting every year since the
beginning would be super nice. who here voted on the most
recent poll (next album)? i actually came up with that poll
(tho this version is paraphrased).. personally i hope aphex
comes out with something that surprises us all, and the
results right now show that most people on here are with me
on this. :) but since he can rock any of those genres and
more (instrumental hip-hop anyone?) i wouldn't be
disappointed with the next opus if it were any of those
genres.. speaking of the next album, joyrex says he was
misled about new rephlex aphex twin and chaos ad. tha fuck?
i still hope we get something this year now that rdj's
broken the period of silence..

Maybe he should take a read at the posts that we all write
on this board. You know... I Care Beacuse You Do? Dont look
like it does it? If Rich EVER reads this (which he more than
likely wont) then listen to your fans.... YOU'LL MAKE MORE
MONEY AND PEOPLE HAPPY AT THE SAME TIME. :)

remember that time (around 1999) he told the press that he
has retired from music but if fans send him $5 or so he'll
send us an unreleased track?

any rich folks here?

Aphex Twin: The Philanthropic Collection.

absolutely. if it takes all of us pitching in $5 to assemble
an unreleased tracks compilation.. well i don't think most
of us would mind going without a mcdonalds extra value meal
for a day :D

Then if he just gave us about...say, enough to make another
double album then Phob could arrange some sort of way to let
us press the CD's...

Would be nice I must say.... :)
