Maybe someone can help me out. I just ordered a macbook pro and want to run virtualization software. I heard Vmware fusion runs faster. I would assume you couldn't run protools on either though, is this true?

yeah I would run boot camp for the intensive stuff but for other things virtualization is the way to go, I just don't which one to get.

i prefer Fusion
i would also say to go with Fusion because VMware has years upon years of virtualization experience
but that's just my opinion.

I've been using parallels for a while now, and have been thinking of switching over to fusion. parallels lately seem to have been focussing on more and more functionality, neglecting efficiency and bugs. every update adds more functionality, but things also seem to run less and less smooth.
the only reason not to switch is the activation hassle with reinstalling XP.
It looks like fusion is the better deal (still haven't tried it though!).
