Anyone else a big fan of this man? Have a favorite book?
I've only been reading him since late '05 but already I've run through the complete Dark Tower series and maybe 15 of his other novels and short story collections.
Probably my favorite read so far was DT book 4: Wizard And Glass, with Pet Sematary and Hearts in Atlantis tied for a close second. And I still have at least 25 or 30 books of his I havent touched yet.
P.S. a Dark Tower movie is in the works (or at least in talks), with JJ Abrams (LOST creator) lined up to direct/produce. I'm not sure I want to watch it though. I don't want to fuck up the perfect version of it I have in my head.

Haven't read the dark tower series, but almost every other book from him. Favorites : Insomnia, IT, Nightmares and Dreamscapes, the Tommyknockers.
I really like it's style but let's face it, the man is going weak lately. Cellular is rubbish ! I wanna check it's latest I think it's titled Lisay's story.

I've only heard good things about Cell myself, havent read it yet though. I think I'll read Insomnia next.. .
I can't recommend the Tower strongly enough.

I liked Cell, although I felt it borrowed a bit too much from his other books. I
I still haven't read It (but it's waiting on my bookshelf). I am reading Tommyknockers at the moment and am over half way through but it is slow going. He is usually too verbose and this is the worst of his I've read for this. I read the full version of The Stand and didn't find that too long, as it gripped me from start to finish. I'm finding Tommyknockers a bit "MEh" and might abandon it (which I very rarely do with books once I have gotten more than a few chapters in).
I like Steven King and he's very good at capturing the human element and making you feel for the characters, but I do find he falls into one of my pet hates, writers writing about writing or writers, songwriters singing about songs, movie makers making films about acting/movie making, etc.
