Take a look at these hands.
Take a look at these hands.
The hand speaks. The hand of a government man.
Well I'm a tumbler. Born under punches.
I'm so thin.

All I want is to breathe. I'm too thin.
Won't you breathe with me?
Find a little space, so we can move in-between in-between
it
And keep on step ahead, of yourself.

Don't you miss it, don't you miss it.
Some 'a you people just about missed it!
Last time to make plans!
Well I'm a tumbler...
I'm a Government Man.

THAT'S A FUCKING IMMENSE SONG.

My question... how the fuck did they do the guitar/computer
solo? Is it Adrian Belew and his delay trickery or did Eno
spend ages cutting up tapes????

hell yes!

this is one of my favorite tunes of all time, it's (IMHO)
their definitive statement in afrobeat idiom focused through
every ounce of their creative energy.

everything's perfect.

and the heat goes on where the hand has been.

i still haven't heard the surround sound mix, but thank the
gods they remastered the original stereo mix.

btw, it you dig this album, for something in a similar vein
(but more directly fela-derived) for the love of the gods
check out the album "soul explosion" by the daktaris. you
need to hear "super afro-beat" and the cover of james
brown's "give it up or turnit aloose." go go go!
