Don't forget.

If I want to hear electronic bleeps and farts, I'll put
my foot through the windscreen of the Rascal and listen to
the alarm going off

Tommy on dance music

BBC - Comedy - Saxondale

Ha, well, this is it, the digital age. And what a godsend
for when I was an expatriate as EVERYONE is fucking bored of
hearing by now.

ALSO there's a new series of armando iannucci's charm
offensive on radio 4, started last week very funny ho ho ho
etc.

...but this thread is about SAXONDALE so we should talk
about that instead, probably

I liked that series too, good call!

Would you take a bath heated by Jonthan King?

I thought it was alright. It was good to see Simon Greenall
again too.

Slightly watered down version of the first series, but..
still, .. well, probably trying to entice a bigger audience
than last time round...My dad liked it, and it was good to
see Rik Mayall not playing an utter parody of himself for
once. Well, nearly.

Good stuff :)

I've been trying to catch up on the first series on
alluc.org but they only have 4/7 of the episodes... what's
there is great.

It took me a while longer than it should have to realise,
but, yes, I believe it was.

was very good. it seems odd that they are using up funny
actors like simon greenall and matt berry on really
straight, small roles

Watched it for the first real time last night and it was
great. I love it.

It wasn't Rik, it was the guy from the BP garage in
Partridge.

Points: 89 Status: Addict | Followup to The Black Dog: #02113808

That's Simon Greenall.

To my knowledge we're talking about the other bloke who
turned up with the tache and the village people voice.

offline ecnadniarb on 2007-08-24 07:50 [#02113840]
Points: 24805 Status: Lurker | Show recordbag

The other bloke is someone called Greg Davies.
He's 6' 8" tall which is a bit bigger than Rik and "Dunc"
looked huge next to Coogan who isn't a midget.

It was a lot more Alan Partridge like than the first series.
Either they are trying to appeal to more people or they have
just gone to a more comfortable style of writing.

nah, tbd is talking about tex from the garage, michael's
mate - it looked like him to me as well. I did think it
was quite disappointing, less subtle than the first series
(and even the 2nd partridge series) but not as funny, seemed
like they're trying too hard.

I thought that for a second but then reconsidered as that
was quite a small part.
I don't think it was Pete Sera????cz though.

For some reason the fact that Saxondales hair looked
different annoyed me.

Was the dude in the anger management class, who was talking
about running over people, Bainbridge from Mighty Boosh?

offline dogvomit from Cotttage Cheese on 2007-08-24 10:29 [#02113900]

been vry, very drunk.

Well, it was OK I suppose.
I hope Morris isn't dead, he was the funniest person in the
first series.

the guy in saxondale at the beginning/dixon bainbridge/ dr
lucien sanchez = Matt Berry, he also does some of the music
for saxondale oddly enough

tex who "likes american stuff"/ Duane Benzie in Spaced/
angry flatmate in Shaun of The Dead/ voice of Darth Maul is
Peter Serafinowicz... wasnt him in saxondale though, he is
related to Graham Linehan too which brings me smoothly on
to...

the IT crowd, which had some great LOLs this week, Moss at
the bar was a spit-out-my-drink moment

I just downloaded the first two series (hadn't watched it or
heard of it before). At first I wasn't very sure of it, but
I think it mostly succeeds.
