octopus1 | SIAN • Flood EP (incl. Gui Boratto remix)

First up is Sian, remixed by Gui Boratto. Sian produces
mainly for Karmarouge, the much loved Koln imprint and also
home of artists Gabriel Ananda, Pablo Akaros and remixers
like Dominik Eulberg, Villalobos and Luciano. He has also has
made records for Pokerflat(incl Steve Bug remix),Einmaleins
(incl Sweet n candy remix) and Dessous, which have
established him as one of "weird new kids" on the
scene, already his records and dj sets are supported by
everyone from Laurent Garnier ,Ame, Ripperton, Patrick
Chardronnet , Joey Beltram etc etc, he has gathered great
press attention from DJ mag, De:Bug, Mixmag, Groove, IDJ
etc.Has been recently been featured on 3 Essential mixes
from BBC1 in a row and is regularly front page news on
Beatport.
With a reputation for wild dj sets,he is now booked solidly
each weekend.Think of him as a hyper-active, mega
output, workaholic, artist, label A&R,now globe trotting dj and
techno composer and you get the basic idea.He also manages
to remix the most diverse people from Audiofly/Looselips to
Satoshi Fumi to the upcoming remixes for Gabriel
Ananda,Laurine frost and the Vegetable Orchestra(this
project also includes mixes by Luciano/Villalobos, Anja
Schneider, Dominik Eulberg)
With the first Octopus relase,"Flood" A side is
infectious, melodic and wonderfully refined, its neu techno
with real purpose.
on the B side Gui, leader of the new breed of south american
producers, and responsible for many of Kompakt recent hits,
he turns "Flood" into and epic, warm and truly ecstatic
moment. His mix is both rough and clunky and so precise,
typical of this maestro. A friend and inspiration, since our
first conversations,Gui was always first choice for remixing
Octopus 1.

It still gives me the creeps to think that son-of-a-gun
could do that.

You are downstairs with 3 switches in front of you. each of
these 3 switches controls one of the 3 lightbulbs upstairs,
but you don't know which switch controls which lightbulb.
The only way to see the lightbulbs is to go upstairs, and
you can only go upstairs once. How do you find out which
switches control which lightbulbs?

I assume you can see the light from downstairs, and can
unscrew bulbs:

while downstairs, flip one switch. go upstairs, see which
was on. Now unscrew one of the other bulbs. go back
downstairs, deactivate the active switch, and flip one of
the others; if a light appears upstairs, then it is the
still-in other bulb, otherwise it's the one you removed.

A nice sneak guess attack but "The only way to see the
lightbulbs is to go upstairs", so sorry but you are
INCORRECT.

I said to see the LIGHT, not the BULBS.

The things I listed at first after "I assume" were
ambiguities in the description.

also if you think through the cases (number of switches
flipped), it becomes clear that you maximally determine one
switch/bulb connection when looking at the lamps, and thus
there is some stupid trick involved; and since you rejected
my stupid trick, you are looking for a particular one, so
just put yourself out of your misery.

Since you could steam roller my head if you wanted to I will
just give you the solution and beg you not to hurt me. turn
one switch for like 2 minutes, turn it off and turn on
another. go up and see which one is on and which feels hot.
ZING!
