it's called an "umlaut".. and with the double 'a', it looks
more like dutch than german.

Not in my dictionary either, the closest thing is Dauer
which means duration. Dauert means lasted.

its probably nonsense, but i come to think of:

"mich däucht, blah blah"

meaning, "i think, blah blah"

it would be an old fashioned, snobbish variation of

"ich denke"

the author of your daaücht probably wasnt german at all
and non germans would never know such a uncommon, crazy
term

where the beat have you got THAT from ?
