Hi,
Any here had experience of international shipping through
USPS? Why are they so shit? In the tracking of my order (for
an Elektron Machinedrum from the US, it's a pretty expensive
package) they say they attempted to deliver it yesterday at
2pm (this could be 10pm due to time zone difference). WTF's
going on?

Yes, I was home pretty much all day yesterday. I popped out
very early in the morning to do some posting of my own, but
I was only gone for about 5 minutes and it was hours before
2pm...

That probably just means you have to go to your local post
office to pick it up. They'll leave a note for you some day,
but if you have the number for it, you can probably go right
now.

I bought one of these from the USA last week,
delivered to Australia in 6 days, as promised. The tracking
service worked fine for me, but the US component of the
journey was reported about two days late.

The times in Australia were in local time, so I assume it
would be the same in the UK. They were +/- 30min on the
exact delivery time.

Yeah I'm gonna go down there tonight once my mum gets back
from work.

I've tracked it on the Parcel Farce site and they say
they're waiting for customs charges, so I'll phone them up
after lunch and ask them WTFs going on and even if they
decline me I'm still going tonight lol. I've been waiting
for weeks for a $100 "3 Day International Delivery" service.

That's how UPS usually works, they say that they attempt to
delivery at X time but I know they didn't, with USPS I never
had any trouble tracking.

We've got the answer anyways now and I'll be picking it up
from a Parcel Farce depot soon, as well as paying £125 more
in fucking customs charges. Why the fuck I payed £50+ for
the postage in the first place I don't know, it's been
shite.

BTW if Boston Guitar's reading this, thanks a lot for the
drum machine, it's the postage I'm criticising, bloody
USPS....

The customs charges have nothing to do with USPS, it's the
European law. To avoid taxes, it should have been marked as
"Gift" and the value of the goods should not have been the
real value but instead some low number like $15 otherwise
the fuckers will tax the % in full because it's a non EU
commercial package. Also the delivery gets postponed because
the retards at the customs are checking out what you bought
and calculating the fee for you to pay.
