I highly doubt they would do a live record in light of the fact that: A) The material would be from the live shit they've been doing for the past 3 years, which is based on material from a prior physical release. B) They've toured with said live set so extensively at this point, there would be no creative purpose in releasing it since nearly everyone has heard it, seen it, or downloaded a soundboard copy of it. It seems releasing a live record at this point would serve no purpose. I think it's funny how so many people have "sources" on here. |

They should release an album of live new material, then release that new material as a proper studio album, then release a double disc with both versions of the new material, then, finally, release a quadruple disc version with both versions of new material, a DVD of concert footage and a new disc with unreleased material. There you go. |

little do you know, *they* may no longer be releaing as autechre, but autechre as an entity will continue to put out music. Simply they've passed the mantle to me and I will begin releasing music as autechre. |

Well on the otherhand, with families and all, comes a new set of financial obligations. What better way to meet that than to release a record every couple years. Maybe touring might be too much as they get older. That's understood, however it's not like they are 40+ years old. Secondly, if it meant they could release something every year, I would gladly have them NOT tour. Last but not least, this has been the longest break between releases we have ever seen. Back in the day we at least got an EP or a Peel Session or something to hold us over. Now we get the same set played out live at festivals for the past 2 and a half years. Nevertheless, I have a VERY difficult time seeing Untilteduh as being thier Opus or SwanSong. |
