haha paperboy was a good game, but it was also the result of
be throwing my sinclair spectrum against the wall as a young
boy. incredibly frustrating, as a lot of games were back
then.

oh wait i thought i knew, but apparently not. if you
deliver to all your customers in one day the next day you
get a new customer. beyond that tho i have no idea.
because i think you start out with like i'll just guess 20
or so houses and half are customers and half aren't, so... i
don't think it was a matter of attention span that was the
issue but i just didn't have the patience to make it further
than a week. and if i had, it was like once or twice and it
must not have been worth remembering and that's probably why
i put it down and stopped playing it all together anymore
after that.

classic game. I liked throwing the paper onto a car someone
was underneath working on

i think i once or twice cleared a week on that game. I
played it only once or twice though. One of my bestest mates
dropped by one evening when i was sick and brought the game
for the NES, and we popped it in and played the shit out of
it.

NES Memories

Chicken Pox = Rad Racer
Flu = Marble Madness
Broken Arm = RC Pro Am
Pet Bird Died = Goonies
Parents Got Divorced = Double Dribble

Paperboy brings memories of riding my bike through a blurry
morning neighborhood that resembles ET town. Also, a pizza
joint that had one of the original arcade games. It had
handle bars sticking out of it.

hahaha double dribble! : D

double dribble had a few sweet spots for hitting three
pointers

Yeah the arcade machine with an actual pair of bmx bars
grafted on was a wicked novelty, even if it was a bastard to
control well.

I just played it again after reading this

and just now beat this game monday-sunday, missing only one
single house the entire time and not dying once.
score: 110,100

Hmm, a depressing event for each... and then me and my life
who plays videogames 94% of waking hours. Makes sense.

I just got a PERFECT (monday-sunday never missing one single
house):

(in this picture one of those red houses is blinking
red/white/red/white (indicating the new subscriber) but
unfortunately took the picture on the red cycle). Pretty
easy.

w M w's paperboy PRO TIPS:

* press up to go at full speed 100% of the time
* first do a test run trying to only hit windows to adjust
to the paper throwing angle and improve accuracy
* you have 10 papers so only use the first 5 to hit trash
can's/ red house windows/ etc for extra points, to make sure
you have enough for the white houses
* there is one house drawn at a fucked up angle that only
appears sometime after monday. Always throw two papers right
in a row at it because one often misses.
* when you have a lot of papers, like 9/10, there are a
couple spots where there are 3 extra point things to hit
right in a row (2 graveyards and a window) + (3 red house
windows)
* you can't break windows of white houses (unsubscribe) but
you can knock over their trash cans and trees.

* SUPER BONUS TRICK: there are weird stone thingies that
make a plinky sound when you hit them. Right when you hit
one, pause the game (on original nes at least) and a (bing,
bing, bing) looped sound occurs. Unpause and pause really
fast and it will be in a different pitch. AMAZING! Also
right when you break a window the sound prevents the game
from being able to pause at all.

Do you play with the original NES gamepads or a modern
gamepad connected to an adapter?
