That chess match is the coolest scene to parody. My favorites are that Bill and Ted movie and the ''Cheating Death with Stephen Colbert!'' segment. Ho ho ho.

The "Seventh Seal" scene always reminds me of the old Woody Allen movie "Love and Death" which I don't really remember much at all. Strange.
This then reminded me of some interviews with directors I had seen recently. Here are the ones I could dig up:
Scene to Scene
Woody Allen-An in depth interview with the director Woody Allen who directed Love and Death, Annie Hall, Manhattan, The Purple Rose of Cairo, Hannah and Her Sisters, Crimes and Misdemeanors, Melinda and Melinda and Matchpoint. Woody oddly refuses to watch any clips of his movies during the interview.
David Lynch-An in depth interview with the director David Lynch who directed Eraserhead, Twin Peaks, Blue Velvet, Lost Highway, The Straight Story, Mulholland Dr. and Inland Empire.
Roman Polanski-An in depth interview with the director Roman Polanski who directed Knife in the Water, Repulsion, Rosemary's Baby, Macbeth, Chinatown, The Tenant, Frantic, Bitter Moon and The Pianist. Roman is in an entertainingly grumpy mood during the interview.
Jonathan Demme-An in depth interview with the director Jonathan Demme who directed the classic Talking Heads concert Stop Making Sense, the music video for New Order's Perfect Kiss, Philadelphia and The Silence of the Lambs.
Brian De-Palma-An in depth interview with the director Brian De Palma who directed Carrie, Dressed to Kill, Blow Out, Scarface, The Untouchables, Carlito's Way, Mission: Impossible, Femme Fatale and The
