This is an EP I started back in January '06 (and finished
around that summer). Back then it was slotted for a release
on Spunktronics Records. Unfortunately, mr. Spunk is an
insanely slowgoing man, so I figured I'd just put it up on
the web (after a long fucking time of staying on the drive).
It's ... "drill & bass", basically. Melodies and breaks,
very much in that '96 state of mind, with a bit of
modulation and odd scalework here and there. I'm quite happy
with it.

I also put up proper EAP links on the
site,
finally.

1: Awesome! Not much more to say, except that I never like
the pitched voice that always comes with that breakbeat
thingie you've got there.

2: Is this a direct continuation of the first one? I don't
think it worked well; it just sounds like more of the first
track, which makes it more repetitive right from the start.

3: I feel I've heard that stuff it starts out with before.
It's a good track, but I think I'd like it better with
microbeats for some reason.

4: Just ok, nothing more.

Would you be up for a collab some time?

i like the mood a lot all through, and there are some plaid
synths in there i like.

the production gives a lot of space around the instruments
but still feels the spectrum.

its chill, but i dont feel the songwriting all that much.

2 sounds like a much better remix of 1 sorta.

These are, great but... I havn't heard any of, your
beautiful singing in these, tracks yet..., which is,
needless to say, a disappointment.

I'm listening to these while playing doom2.

These pale in comparison to soul taco mix in the christian
taco rock genre.

listening to the first track now... sounds pretty goddamn
sweet so far. Have all 4 tracks downloaded and will listen
to them all and report back after.

I liked most of 'Don Lope', save for the high-pitch voice
sample that plays with every bass kick. It wasn't bad at
first, but unfortunately, it grew annoying and felt a bit
too reminiscent of Squarepusher. 'A conversion' is very
nice. I enjoyed the sounds in it and the drums had just the
right amount of punch. 'I am the wrath of God' is also
pretty good, but once again I feel like I'm listening to a
Squarepusher track when the voice sample comes in with the
drums. You display a lot of creativity and technical savvy,
but the end result doesn't feel completely original. The
first track is my favorite (I really liked it), but the
others didn't whet my appetite quite as much. Comparisons to
other artists aside, you are very good at what you do.

that break is a standard jungle break (the think break),
essential for oldschool melodic junglism!

I figured it was an intentional stylistic choice to go for
that sound. I liked certain elements of every track, but,
and this is not a bad thing, it felt like an unreleased
'pusher E.P. from '96 (that state of mind you mentioned). I
guess I was expecting drill n bass mixed with the usual staz
IDM weirdness, whereas this seemed almost 'mainstream'.
Again, it's not a bad thing, it just didn't really feel like
I was listening to the IDM magician himself, the one and
only: staz.

It's also better than 98% of the music that is posted on
zilty, so take my criticism with a grain of salt. :)

Yeah, I know where you're coming from... I'm working on a
second EP that should suit that taste a lot, lot more!
Thanks for the feedback, man. It's fun to see someone put a
bit of effort into typing it up.

I really, really like the melodies from Huerequeque. The
section from like 0:54 to 1:44 is just godly. It feels
triumphant and moving, reserved but passionate. like aphex
meets PBS...
